This has been our local fish & chippery since we moved into the neighbourhood over 8 years ago.
The owners are super friendly and relaxed in their usually busy shop – testament to the quality of their food. But sometimes, I’d say maybe 5-10% of the time. the servers are unutterably rude – the words are polite, but the attitude and tone are not. I just ignore this though I’ve taken away a star.
Family favourites are the hot chicken schnitzel box, burgers, fish & chips, and salads. The chips especially are really, really good. Super crispy on the outside and soft and fluffy inside. If they’re not too busy we’ll ask for “extra crispy”. Sometimes, we’ll order just chips as a side dish to a home-cooked meal, and they’re fine with that too, which we very much appreciate.
Very disappointing. First time getting takeaway here and it will be the last.
I don’t know how the shop assistant thought it was acceptable to sell this poor excuse for a ‘potato fritter’. It was dripping in oil, misshapen, burnt in parts, had no potato in parts and looked as if someone had already taken a bite out of it.
Service was fine but not enough to salvage the score in a takeaway if the food isn’t up to par.
Whenever we have visited Sth Aus. We have bought our Fish & Chips here. Always been really nice, which is why we return. But. Tonight’s meal was not so good . Way. Way. Way, to much Batter. One Fish Nice. The other Not So. Chips Average. Seafood Sticks had more Batter than Seafood Stick. Salad was nice. Service great as per usual. 😔

good food but we ordered fish and chips not fish and oil!! it was sooo oily i could’ve fried another batch merely with the oil that was on my fingers after eating. seriously gross and the next day i was bed ridden due to causing an IBS flare up. i could’ve slid the pineapple fritter across the table like a hockey puck it was so oily. would be a good spot to get food from if they just lowered the oil content by half. chips were unfortunately not salty or vinegary enough. but good affordable prices!

Customer service was absolutely disgusting. The personal hygiene stands on the counter staff is atrocious. Very rude, unprofessional service, terrible food quality and not much of a serving.(although over half of it went it the bin) poor service and food quality all round. The woman? who served us was rude, filthy and unkempt. Not a great first or last impression. Never going back. Much better places around.
