Great fish and chips. We ordered delivery and taste and quality was not compromised. Fish was still steamy hot and chunky chips were crispy as should be. The fritters were just rightly seasoned.
I have lived in the area for the last 15 years, and I drive past it everyday. I can’t believe that I haven’t paid this place a visit until today!
There were a few people lining up inside when I walked in, and you can tell that most of them are their regulars.
I ordered a seafood plate for 1 takeaway. It didn’t take long before the takeaway box was handed over to me, heavy, good quantity.
I rushed home which is 5 minute drive around the corner as I couldn’t wait to taste the food!
Prawns and calamaris were cooked to perfection. Fish fillet was flaky, couldn’t complain! They were sitting on a bed of hot chips, again, generous size for small chips.
I couldn’t fault the food. Service was quick and friendly.
I would definitely come back and highlight recommendate this little gem in Collinswood!
The mantle for Adelaide’s best fish and chips is heavily contended….for years places like Soto in Semaphore have come to mind.
For me however Sammy’s Fish & Chippery is one of the strong contenders. For the last few years I have been a regular customer attending every week or two and working my way through their menu.
It all starts with their chips which are extraordinary but Sammy tells me that his secret is simple…. Fresh seafood, regularly changing his oil and lots of family history in the Fish & Chips game.
Their fish and chips are amazing but there are also some hidden gems including their fish burger (I will never eat another Fillet-o-Fish), Calamari Yiros and Double Beef and Bacon Burger.
So great to have a place like this near me.
Fresh seafood expertly cooked
Fresh fish, seafood and yummy fat chips. Place is clean, well ventilated and there’s no oil smell on your clothes despite dining indoors.
Very good steak sandwiches. Most enjoyable.
Very clean working area that reflects in food presentation.
Thanks guys it was a pleasure to eat your food.
First visit. Chips. Crumbed butterfish. Fair price. Tasted nice (no bones). Staff were nice + looked happy to be at work likely as their product is excellent.
Chips n gravey, Dim Sums & Potato cakes were beautiful. Good value, clean premises & happy friendly service. Will dine there again.
First time visiting the place.
Staff were friendly. Ordered seafood pack for one and the price was right. Seafood was not overly battered and the portions were enough. Definitely recommend to visit the place.
