About
Grange Fish Shop is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Grange community on South Australia’s beachside fringe, open for lunch and dinner with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. The menu covers the classics and then some, with fish and chips leading the way alongside yiros, crumbed Gar Fish, and a kids’ menu that makes it a practical choice for families.
The signature serve is fish and chips with gravy, and regulars also speak highly of the ab pack. The potato fritters have earned particular attention, described as proper thick-cut potato with a soft, pillowy centre and a satisfying batter crunch. Butterfish is a popular choice, arriving well-fried and generously portioned at a reasonable price point.
Service is a genuine highlight here. The owners have made an impression with their willingness to go well beyond what’s expected, including one much-talked-about instance of a customer arriving after closing time and the owner happily firing up the fryer regardless. That kind of hospitality is not something you find everywhere.
Outdoor seating is available and kept clean, there’s free parking nearby, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments. Food quality opinions do vary across recent reviews, so experiences may differ, but for many locals this Grange fish and chip shop hits the spot on a weeknight. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short.

Came for a snack, got a butterfish and potato fritter. Everything decently fried, good crisp. Potato cake/fritter was a standout! Actual slice of potato….soft pillowy on the inside with nice batter crunch. One of the best I’ve ever had!
You know those Winter nights when you just want to park @ the beach @ Grange , and watch the storm roll in from inside your cozy car.
That was the situation a week ago and I was really happy to say hello to these new owners of only a month or so.
The Fish and Chips were REALLY yummy and I wish them a great patronage .
Give em’ a 🐟 go when next down that way !
Got fish and chips from this place and it tasted good. I got two pieces of Butter Fish and a medium chips, all for about 22 or 23 dollars. I think it was 6.50 for a piece of battered Butter Fish and about 10 for a medium chips.
Big helping. I was able to eat the leftovers for lunch the next day
Average fish and chips. A bit disappointed as the fish and chips were not crispy even though we ate them when fresh. The batter was soft and the fish was quite bland
Absolutely amazing customer service. We arrived at 8pm and realised that they were closed as we hadn’t checked the opening hours. The owner still came out of the shop and happily offered to turn the fryer back on and cook us whatever we wanted. We waited for our food at their outdoor seating area, which was clean and comfortable. We took our food to the beach, and after about 20 minutes we noticed the owner there too. We had accidentally left our bag in the store and she came to find us and return it. The food was fresh, delicious, affordable and cooked very well. Definitely worth a visit 🙏🏻
Without doubt we had the best fish and chips ever tonight. Fish was perfect not greasy and chips were 10 out of 10. Well done.
I felt like an intruder sitting at this chip shop.. like they didnt want me there.. they had a kid behind the counter jumping in and out of the shop front window.. who knows how much dirt and hair your eating as they dont wear hair nets or keep the place tidy or professional.
Many years ago Grange was our local go to for takeaway, the new owners have done a great job of keeping up the standards, really enjoyed the food.
