About
Port Noarlunga Fish & Chips has built a well-deserved reputation along the southern Adelaide coast, drawing in regulars and visitors alike with freshly cooked fish and hand-cut chips made entirely in house. The batter is a talking point on its own, praised for being thin, light, and genuinely crispy without any greasiness. The chips earn similar praise, golden and crunchy in a way that tends to stick in people’s memories long after the meal. It is the kind of fish and chip shop in Port Noarlunga that people return to decades later and find it still delivering.
The menu stretches well beyond the basics. Alongside the fish and chips, the kitchen turns out hamburgers, steak sandwiches, yiros, and a broader seafood selection. Sauces including curry sauce, gravy, and mushy peas are on offer, which gives the menu a broader appeal for visitors from interstate or overseas. There is also a salad bar, vegetarian options, and a dedicated kids’ menu with high chairs available, making this a comfortable spot for families dining in or grabbing takeaway.
The venue is casual and table-serviced, with dine-in and takeaway both well catered for. Groups and tourists are welcome, and free parking is available on street and nearby. The shop does get busy, particularly on weekends, so a short wait is normal. Open from Wednesday through to Sunday across brunch, lunch, and dinner hours, with dessert rounding out the meal for those who want it.
Phone ahead during peak dinner times to get your order in early.

i have just finished my lunch from nearby vineyards, and i left poorer and even more hungry! this is the place to come for the oily, crunchy fast food for the soul! The batter are fried to heaven, with almost a see through texture, crunch and melts, no heaviness! fish selections are butterfish, shark flakes, garfish and blue grenadier. i tried the flakes, firm and well bodied! cant forget to mention the chips with an unmistakeable lingering aroma of beef tallow! the way we like it… sorry not today for mcd, and other fast food ! lastly, the price! a big pc of fish, 2 long calamari, 2 scallops, 2 prawns, and a can of soft drink for $21.90 all in? take my money!
Might honestly be the best chips I’ve ever had. So crispy and golden. The fish melted in your mouth. And as a Brit abroad I raved about the fact you could get curry sauce, gravy and mushy peas for days. Would move to Adelaide purely for this fish and chip shop (which we will do in a year or so, so please don’t go anywhere and never change!!)
I used to come here about 20 years ago and always wanted to go back. I finally took my son in today and he said they’re the best chips he’s had (and he’s a tough food critic 🤣)
Only thing I would’ve changed is asking for extra salt, but I appreciate that they don’t put too much on. Easier to add then remove.
(Photo today, but I took a few bites before the photo 🤣)
We brought takeaway from this fish and chip shop last Sunday 11/1/2026. It ain’t the first time we have brought food from here.
It has never disappointed us.
The batter on the butterfish was so thin and crispy (not oily at all ) the fish was so fresh. The hand cut chips were delicious and the tartare sauce was amazing. It is always worth the drive to Port Noarlunga to get Fish and Chips. The people behind the counter were very pleasant. To be honest the pricing is very good. Not expensive at ALL !!!!!!!
We have never had a bad experience.
Keep up the great work. 🙏🏻❤️
I can say it is one of the best fish and chips shops in Adelaide.
Got the Seafood pack for 2. The fish was nice, the batter on it was not very crisp but nice and thin. The scallops were very fresh and tasted nice. The calamari was ok.
The chips were nice, just not very crispy. I understand in reading the owners responses to other reviews why that is, being freshly cut, it’s just a shame as crispy chips are what most people are looking for.
But overall it is very good.
Nice service and a nice shop with some tables for eating.
The best fish and chips in Adelaide! The fish has the ideal amount of batter and the hand cut chips are perfect. If you enjoy traditional fish and chips you will not regret eating here, you might even have it become your new favourite like I did.
Went to this fish shop for the first time on recommendation from my brother.
The best fish and chips ive had in a very long time. That’s saying something from a ex fish and chip shop owner.
The owners were so friendly and the shop was very clean.
Best fish and chips I’ve had in many years!
