This place is amazing! Super fresh and delicious fish, fresh and juicy oysters, so perfect! Love that you can choose not to take the chips( as I normally can’t finish them). Good location by Bellerive beach, and great staff helps create a good welcoming vibe. Definitely coming back 🙂
Thought I would give this place a try, didn’t have a high expectations but was pleasantly surprised.
Yeh the place itself is dingy and could do with another staff members to clean up, service is a little gruff but I would be like that too if I worked there. Get takeaway and go sit outside on the lovely beach front
Fish was good and so were the chips. Fresh oil, batter was more like a crumb. Chips needed more salt – seems to be common feedback.
For $16 I think it’s reasonable (even though no fish & chips should be this expensive but that’s what it is these days)
A really good little fish and chips shop by the water. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food didn’t take too long to make. The shop had a nice little section of tables to eat in but we went outside for the lovely view of the water. We had the simple fish and chips and it was pretty good, chips could’ve been a bit crispier and saltier but otherwise perfect.
Good portion sizes, decent price! Tasty trevally and lovely service ! Love supporting friendly small businesses! Also has cute park to sit at across the road and look out to sea
Based on the reviews I’ve read here followed by, horrible service, horrible customer service, Attitude problems from staff none of these Problems Have occurred to me while I visited This establishment, they were very polite friendly and cooperative Their food was very fresh a delicious I Had a lovely experience here at The Fish bar 10/10 Would highly recommend for Travellers and Quick stops for Food.
A poor experience. If you’re running a chip shop and have to cover a shift because someone else has let you down DON’T take it out on your innocence customers by being surly with them, not serve them poor food that makes them all feel ill later.
Great fish and chips – super fresh, and lovely variety. Served with all the trimmings and great staff. Location is brilliant – sit in the park, on the beach or eat-in a cute retro booth. Ice-cream cones for dessert.
The food is not good, it was disgusting. Worst fish and chips ever. The customer service was terrible, the lady who has purple hair was so incredibly rude. Hey I get it you’ve had a bad day, working in hospitality sucks, trust me I know, I work in it too. But rolling your eyes, mumbling stuff under your breath is not okay. I walk in and she has the craziest attitude right off the bat, I asked for 4 potato cakes, and if 2 could have chicken salt on them, at my request she promptly rolled her eyes and looked visibly annoyed, girl be so for real, it’s really not that crazy of an ask. After she did that I said “is that okay?” And I won’t lie I was frustrated by her behaviour, she then mumbles something under her breath as I’m glancing at the menu. Not okay behaviour, I also work in customer service and if I did that I would get in so much trouble. Please tell your staff to be kinder to customers.
