About
The Bridport Cafe has earned a well-rated reputation among visitors and locals passing through this quiet corner of northern Tasmania. It operates for breakfast, brunch, and lunch service, offering both dine-in and takeaway across a menu that spans all-day breakfast, vegan and vegetarian options, healthy choices, and a dedicated kids’ menu. Coffee is a clear highlight, with the flat whites drawing particular praise, and the loose leaf tea service, complete with proper cups and saucers, reflects the same careful attention running through the rest of the operation.
The atmosphere is one of the cafe’s genuine strengths. Staff enthusiasm is visible and tends to carry through to the room, giving the space a warmth that regulars find hard to replicate elsewhere. The building has a cosy indoor feel, and outdoor seating is available for those who prefer open air. Dogs are welcome outside, which suits the relaxed pace of Bridport well. The venue is fully wheelchair accessible and comfortable for groups and families, with high chairs on hand and plenty of space.
The Bridport Cafe is women-owned and open across the week, including public holidays, when the kitchen keeps up a solid pace even during busy service. Live music is presented on occasion, adding another layer to what is already a considered, community-minded venue. Mango smoothies have caught the attention of more than a few visitors, and the food presentation across breakfast dishes is consistently noted. WiFi is available on-site, and reservations are recommended for brunch and lunch. A genuine slice of Bridport worth adding to any visit.

Nice spot in a nice town. Decent coffee. Mostly friendly, somewhat ‘business like’ staff.
Quite nice all day breakfast menu all our meals came out in good time and were all nicely presented and tasty. The building , without the tree out front is starting to look quite delapitated, and although rustic is ‘in’ some general repairs and face lift would do wonders.
Would definitely recommend, and would definitely go again.
Slow service, undercooked bacon, milky coffee and premade bottled Hollandaise served cold. We grabbed two hash stacks and two coffees. It was about $60. Would not recommend this place. They had sold out of pies at 11am when we came or we would have had a pie.
All the foods and coffee were really good (5 star for food, no doubt!). I am happy with their service, but I believe there is always a room to improve. Not sure why the waitress was asking for food plates (may be 5-10 mins after serving the food), even we didn’t finish our food yet. And the person in front could use few more smiles to create the conversation more friendly with customers. Overall, it’s really a good cafe, you should visit. Thanks.
the lady from the info centre endorsed this cafe’s coffee, and now i endorse it too. the flat white here is excellent and the indoor experience is cozy!
you get the feeling like this cafe is bridport and bridport is this cafe. the color red is used well throughout the space, from the plates to the walls and the iconic bike on the roof. lots to like when you’re just sitting in or outdoors!
A cafe with a great friendly vibe that you can see between the staff and it then flows through to the customers. It’s great to see people enjoying their work, even on a Sunday.
Loose leaf tea was great, nice detail with the cups, saucers and elegant spoons.
Had a bit of a hiccup with the online ordering, waited 30 minutes for food that hadn’t been sent to the kitchen. But they responded well and had food on the table in 5 minutes, which was great customer service.
Food was great, tasted fresh. Couldn’t fault it!
A fantastic cafe, worth a visit. Excellent coffee, friendly staff and Eggs Benedict to die for.
Myself & 2 others enjoyed breakfast here. Cafe was open on a public holiday and although being super busy, still delivered timely and delicious food. The Mango smoothies are a must try also. Staff were very friendly.
Very unwelcoming.
No hello, smile, not even a single word. I came in with my toddler and found all the staff avoided eye contact.
I sat us down at the table and wondered if anyone would come to take our order… I figured I would just order myself via the QR code.
The ice coffee was fine. I was going to order breakfast but I couldn’t wait to get out of there.
