About
Kings of Queen Takeaway brings something a little different to West Ulverstone, combining a traditional fish and chip shop with a wok kitchen under one roof. The venue offers both dine-in and takeaway, with free parking on site and wheelchair access, making it an easy stop for families across the area.
The fish and chip side of the menu is the main draw, with flake and chips as the signature dish. Regulars report generous fillets, light batter, and crispy chips when the kitchen is on form. Blue grenadier also features on the menu alongside the house-made dim sims, which have developed a following among locals. The wok kitchen adds stir fry and fried rice to the mix, broadening the menu well beyond a standard Tasmanian fish and chip shop offering.
Reviews from the 100-plus people who have left feedback are a mixed bag. Some visitors describe an excellent meal and a welcoming atmosphere, while others have been disappointed with food quality and consistency. The range of experiences suggests it pays to stick to the better-known items, particularly the flake. A kids’ menu is available, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments, making it convenient for families dining in or grabbing takeaway.

Good local burger, fish & chip shop. Nothing fancy. A good local
Did not like food at all. We had fish and Chips. Fish was compacted like from frozen Bulk foods and scollops were exactly the same horrible. Not nice at all. Chips were very ordinary and way too much salt. Never again buying from this takeaway shop.
Tried the Singapore noodles
Worst experience ever.
Asked for no seafood and all I received Was pieces of chopped up can spam in raw curried powdered noodles no other flavours paid $18.50
Highly recommend you go else where for food.
First time at this store, bloody beautiful flake. This size of the fillet was generous, the batter light and the chips crispy. Best flake we’ve had for a while
Went in right at lunch time, Bain Marie was dead empty, zero food. Contemplated going elsewhere but I was already there. When ordering I was met with a very rude man, who seemed to have no patience while I read the menu board (lucky I had some because it took A LONG TIME to get my order). Even snatched my cash so aggressively he dropped it.
