About
Cafe Nudeli sits right in Colac, Victoria, pulling double duty as a relaxed cafe and a proper fish and chip shop. The menu stretches well beyond the fryer, covering everything from a hearty Nu Deli Big Breaky and Eggs Benedict through to Grilled Barramundi, Pork Ribs, and a Sweet Chilli Chicken Schnitzel and Bacon Wrap. Focaccia rounds out the lighter cafe fare, and there is a kids’ menu for younger diners. Coffee is taken seriously here, with regulars pointing to a mild, rich cup that holds its own against any dedicated cafe in the region.
On the fish and chips side, the battered fish draws consistent praise. The batter is described as crispy and full of flavour, and the chips come fresh and well cooked. For anyone passing through Colac on the way to or from the Great Ocean Road, this is a worthwhile stop that goes well beyond roadside fare.
The venue is family-friendly, wheelchair accessible throughout, and offers table service for dine-in guests, with takeaway available as well. The kitchen has shown willingness to accommodate gluten-free requests, which is a genuine plus for those with dietary needs. Alcohol is on the list too, making it a comfortable spot for a relaxed sit-down meal. Service tends to be prompt, and prices sit at a reasonable level for the quality on offer.
Open Tuesday through Sunday, with breakfast service kicking off at 8 AM. Phone ahead during busy lunch and dinner periods to keep wait times down.

Lovely place for a feed on a quiet Saturday afternoon. The waitress and kitchen were the best and accommodated for gluten free! Amazing coffee too. Couldn’t get better 💙
Can’t fault this Cafe. Service was quick. Prices were very reasonable. And most importantly, the food was very tasty. A great find
Always have had great service and quality food. Great coffee
Bright and cheerful café where you’re greeted warmly. Coffee was mild and rich but my pancake stack with mixed berries was the best I’ve ever had. Thick fluffy pancakes (3) with a generous serve of mixed berries left me thankful to have stumbled on this delightful place.
Decided to try the takeaway Fish and Chips. The fish and potato cakes were completely burnt. $46 worth of food that was really only fit for the bin. The batter was so burnt it broke a bracket on my daughters braces.
When returning to bring it to their attention my mother was brushed off. They didn’t want to know about it. Poor form in a small town! If i could post a photo here I would. Will never go back. Plenty of other good fish and chips in Colac.
I went on a trip to the Great Ocean Road and stopped in Colac to grab something to eat. I honestly have never had such amazing battered fish in my life — it was absolutely delicious. The batter was perfect, crispy, and full of flavour.
My kids loved the fish and chips so much, which says a lot! We even took some food away because it was that good.
Truly amazing food and service. Highly recommended to anyone passing through Colac 👍
I really loved the way they serve the fish and chips — absolutely amazing! The taste was so good, and everything was fresh and perfectly cooked. Highly recommended!
This wasn’t just fish and chips — it was an experience! The batter was perfectly golden, light, and unbelievably crispy, with fresh, juicy fish inside that melted in the mouth. Every bite had that perfect crunch without being oily at all.
The chips were hot, fluffy on the inside, and seasoned just right. Even my kids, who are usually picky eaters, couldn’t stop eating — that alone says everything! We enjoyed it so much that we couldn’t resist taking some away as well.
Hands down, one of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. If you’re anywhere nearby and don’t stop here, you’re seriously missing out. Highly, highly recommended! 🌊✨
