About
Camms Rd Fish & Chips has built a strong reputation in Cranbourne, drawing regulars and first-timers alike from well beyond the local area. With well over four and a half stars across nearly a thousand reviews, this fish and chip shop clearly resonates with a wide crowd, and it’s easy to see why people make the trip.
The potato cakes are the talking point here. Regulars and visitors travelling significant distances rave about the range of specialty flavours on offer, with varieties like cheesy garlic and pizza proving particular favourites. It’s not the standard chip-shop potato cake, and that distinction has earned the shop a loyal following. The batter is consistently praised as crispy and well executed, and the burgers are noted for being generously built and satisfying. Friendly, warm staff who take the time to chat and add small personal touches to orders make the experience feel genuinely welcoming rather than transactional.
The shop is family-friendly with a kids’ menu, and the casual atmosphere suits everyone from solo diners to groups. Dine-in, takeaway, and delivery are all available, covering lunch and dinner service. Free parking on-site and on the street keeps things convenient for those arriving by car.
For anyone in the Cranbourne area craving fish and chips, or for those who’ve heard about the potato cakes and are willing to make the drive, this shop delivers on the hype. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times down.

I recently visited this fish and chip shop with my mum, and it exceeded our expectations. The customer service was warm and friendly, with staff serving us with a smile. The food was absolutely delicious, fresh, and perfectly cooked, with just the right amount of seasoning – the chicken salt was a nice touch.
Wow, so good to visit a fish and chip shop that is actually busy like the old days of fish and chips. I made the 30 minute drive just to try the potato cakes I had heard about and I was so glad I did. The range of speciality potato cakes these guys have is impressive to say the least! My favepurite was probably the cheesy garlic, but I also enjoyed the chess bacon, both were pretty much meals in them selves if you also got some chips or a couple of dimsims! All of the flavours I tried were great and I was really surprised that even though I got many different sizes and thicknesses as certain flavours are larger than others, they were all cooked well and tasted great. I can’t wait to go back and try some more such as the crumbed and Hawaiin! They had a great range of drinks and even lollies and snacks! This place has everything. The service was really great too, received a warm welcome and although when I arrived it was quiet by the time I left it was out the door! And this was a wednesday lunchtime! Im also looking forward to trying the regular menu items but im not sure if can go past the potato cakes!!! Definitely worth popping in!
What a ripper of a fish and chip shop, crispy batter, well built burgers and staff that happily have a quick chat and make you feel welcomed, like how many places draw a little picture on the wrapper? They love there job and it shows. What a local fish and chip shop should be. Never had a bad feed. Youll find a sneaky extra every now and then amongst the feed. And those potato cakes, proper in house made, absolutely bang on. The batter on there fish and potato cakes are crispy, never cluggy. 10 out of 5 star review!
Great fish and chips but nothing special. This place is getting a bit of hype and I’m not entirely sure why. The potato cake was.. a potato cake. I do like that they still use the old school wrapping paper, it felt nostalgic. Overall there are plenty of equally good fish and chips everywhere. I wouldn’t suggest going out of your way to get fish and chips here.
I’m very sorry to say this: Fish was RUBBERY. INEDIBLE! The batter came off the fish & the meat was tough. Couldn’t eat it. Gave it to the dog & even he refused to eat it! It wasn’t fresh, wasn’t thawed properly. Potato cakes were very oily. Chips were horrible . Definitely the worst fish & chips we’ve had.
We chose this place after seeing an article about them having the best potato cakes in Victoria.
First impressions are that the place isn’t that clean, the fridges were very dirty as was the floors.
We ordered or food, the staff were welcoming and polite, the prices are reasonable and the menu is extensive with plenty of options to choose.
The food was prepared in a timely manner and the it was all wrapped up in butcher paper in an old school fashion.
Now the food itself, it was good.
The potato cakes, fish and the chips were all nice and well salted.
So was it good, yes
Was it great ,no
Was it worth going out of the way to get here, no.
Don’t get me wrong, if I’m in the area I would go back, but it’s not a stand out place.
Travelled over an hour and a half just to try the special potato cakes, all the different flavours we got were amazing we especially liked the cheesy garlic and the pizza one, all the different variations were amazing, the owner has the best customer service that I’ve seen in a while, will definitely be back, 3 very happy customers 😊😊
Food was burnt, batter came off the scallops, reported to DoorDash. Inedible. Not the same Camms Rd from last yr, would get lollies and personalised messages, bit dissappointed.
