About
Shark Attack Fish’N’Chippery is a casual takeaway and delivery spot in Cranbourne, serving up the kind of fish and chips that regulars describe as authentically Australian. The flake is well regarded, arriving with a light batter and cooked fresh, while the chips draw consistent praise for being done just right. Fish cakes are another highlight, noted for their generous size and solid seasoning.
The menu stretches beyond the classic serve. The lamb souvlaki has earned a following, with regulars pointing to its size and flavour as a genuine reason to visit. Hamburgers with the lot are also popular, and the shop carries the kind of broad, familiar menu you’d expect from a good suburban Cranbourne fish and chip shop.
The venue is family friendly, with a kids’ menu available and wheelchair-accessible parking and entrance. Takeaway and delivery are both on offer, and the shop accepts card and contactless payments. Street parking and a free car park make it easy to stop in.
Opinions on consistency have varied over time, so phone ahead or check recent feedback before a special trip. Open for lunch and dinner most days.

I have been going here for 2 years normally it’s not so bad portion size is ok but owner has gone overseas and the female worker is seriously running the place to the ground the flake size is literally half the size of a normal flake one was even 5cm long and thin as anything I told her I paid $64 for our food and portion was a joke ! She was rude and told me oh 3 flakes was ok but only 1 was small I then told her I was my order replaced she said no I only replace 1 flake I said no the whole thing needs to be replaced never going there again
This place use to be so good ,the guy that served me was friendly ,but the burger was disappointing ,I don’t understand why they do not use the best ingredients, cheap bacon and the onions need to be cooked more almost raw ,not enough tomato sauce ,I am sure if the owner reads these reviews they would do a better job .sorry ended up throwing it out,got to the middle of the meat and it was raw as well ,😒
Very impressive chips. True Aussie fish n chips in general. The fish cakes I ordered were huge and well-seasoned. Thank you Shark Attack for the authentic experience.
This was my first time visiting, and while the fish I ordered was quite good, the behaviour of the owner was absolutely unacceptable. The owner, an Asian lady, repeatedly snapped at a young staff member who was clearly doing her best. This employee appeared to be a teenager, and from what I observed, she was polite, respectful, and trying hard to keep up.
There is no excuse for the way she was spoken to. It was harsh, demeaning, and completely inappropriate, especially in front of customers. It made the atmosphere tense and uncomfortable. That young staff member deserves patience and encouragement, not public criticism.
Let me be very clear: your customers see this. We notice how you treat your staff, and it reflects very poorly on your business. Good food alone is not enough. If you want your business to grow, you need to learn how to treat people with basic respect and decency.
And to the young employee, if you ever read this, I wish you all the best. You did a wonderful job, and I could see how hard you were trying. I know it’s not easy, especially if this is your first job, but please know that you’ll go on to do bigger and better things. Keep your head up, you’ve got this. ✨
Came in today to get myself food for my younger brother, older guy long hair served us. Extremely disappointed by his attitude and behaviour towards us PAYING CUSTOMERS might we add. Everytime I would ask for something he would roll his eyes and then I asked him are we able to get chicken salt and vinegar. came home missing half of my items and no salt or vinegar. Very disappointed and will never be coming back here. Not sure what his issue is but completely repulsed me, if you don’t like the job LEAVE don’t make customers feel shitty of guilty for coming in Jesus.
Really happy with Shark Attack. It’s been my go to for the past few months after my local fave closed.
The quality of food is exactly on par with my previous fish and chip shop which is amazing! Cannot fault the quality.
Don’t get any extras and chips are minimal but I’d take that considering how good the quality is.
Maybe just a couple of extra chips and the odd extra potato cake occasionally would be a lovely addition though when you order every week. 😊
Used to get good fish n chips here but came back two weeks ago and very disappointed won’t be ever coming here again despite ordering over phone and went to pick up was told order not ready so waited only to be told 10 mins later it was sitting in warming area when got home only had two pieces of fish instead of three and chips soggy and horrible tried to ring shop but phone rang out as was due to close in 15 mins.
Great fish n chips shop. We had a lamb souvlaki which was fantastic and big… Hamburger with the lot was really tasty too. Flake was awesome, with light batter and fresh whilst the chips were cooked perfectly. It appeared that it was cooked in clean oil and none of it was overly oily which was good. Highly recommend.
