Echuca's fish and chip trade runs to a small cluster of shops, carrying a moderate body of customer reviews between them, and the picture overall is strongly rated. At least one shop here rates especially highly. All of them are recorded as family friendly, about half take dine-in customers, and delivery is offered by a minority.
Traditional Aussie takeaway is the shape of the menus here. Flake and hoki turn up widely, with butterfish, flathead, whiting, calamari, prawns and scallops appearing at several shops. On the hot food side, potato cakes and dim sims are the constants, and chiko rolls, battered savs, spring rolls, fish cakes, salt and pepper squid and calamari all show up at several places.
Westside Milkbar Take Away is very strongly rated and lists the longest menu in town, with flake, butterfish, hoki, calamari, prawns and scallops alongside potato cakes, dim sims, chiko rolls, battered savs, spring rolls and fish cakes. It is takeaway only. Its surveyed menu showed plain chips at $5, a single piece of fish at $9, and mains typically around $11.50, running from $8 to $16.50. There are too few priced menus in Echuca to say more about prices than that. Eastbound takeaway, also strongly rated, lists flathead, whiting, hoki and flake plus salt and pepper squid and souvlaki. Blue Pacific Fish & Chips is solidly rated and covers delivery, takeaway and dine-in.
