About
Hello Sharkys Seafood is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Glen Iris, drawing regulars from across the inner-south Melbourne suburbs with consistently good food and reasonable prices. The menu centres on the classics, with flake and potato cakes as the signature pairing, alongside hamburgers, chiko rolls, dim sims, and calamari. Pineapple and banana fritters round things out for those after a sweet finish.
The fish is a strong point here. Both grilled and fried options are available, with regulars noting that each piece comes out thick, fresh, and properly cooked. The chips are crispy outside and fluffy within, and the serves are generous. A tip passed around by those who know the shop: ask for the chips fried an extra few minutes if you like them on the crunchier side, and eat everything fresh for the best result. The batter, in particular, is worth getting into while it’s hot.
Service is friendly and the pricing is fair, with a solid feed for a family coming in well under what you’d expect from comparable spots. Hello Sharkys is takeaway focused, so calling ahead and allowing around twenty minutes for pickup is the smart move, especially during the dinner rush. The shop is open for lunch and dinner, including Sunday nights, and free street parking is available nearby.
Family-friendly and consistently well-rated, it’s a reliable choice for fish and chips in Glen Iris. Phone ahead for orders during the busy periods.

We enjoyed fish and chips, as well as pineapple and banana fritters from sharkys 🥰 I really like the batter. You need to eat it fresh though!! I think the prices are really reasonable too.
I’ve been to Hello Sharkys Fish and Chip shop a few times now, and I’m always impressed with the quality of the food. The fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection, and the chips are crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The staff are also very friendly and helpful.
I would definitely recommend Hello Sharkys Fish and Chip shop to anyone looking for a great fish and chips meal.
Here are some specific things I liked:
The fish is always fresh and cooked to perfection.

The grilled flathead is excellent
The staff are friendly and helpful.
Here are some things that could be improved:
The shop can get a bit crowded at times, so it’s best to go early or late.
There is no seating inside the shop, so you have to take your food away.
Overall, I really enjoy Hello Sharkys Fish and Chip shop and would definitely recommend it to others.
Takeaway only joint. Fresh fish, great chips. Had a fried one, a grilled one, two calamaris n chips for about $30. Best to call ahead n pick up about 20 mins later.
Take away only. We love Sharkeys, fish whether grilled or fried is a thick fresh piece, chips are a generous size but we recommend asking to have them fried an extra few minutes! Had a burger or two and dim sims which are beautiful too! Really tasty great food we recommend ringing ahead as they are busy!
Dropped in as we had the ‘Fish’n’Chip’ bug and were very satisfied with our first visit. Good food, excellent value and polite, friendly service 👌
Very consistent, reasonably priced.
They do a good job with hamburgers and mostly cook the chiko rolls properly. Fish has been uniformly good.
In terms of the F&C shops in the area, this is my preferred one – even though there are at least three others that are closer.
Stopped by for some flake and potato cakes, enjoyed thank ya .
I actually came from another fish and chip shop because their fish was $14.. I remembered Hello Sharky’s from passing one time in the car.
The fish was cooked perfectly and could taste it. Usually there is too much batter on fish but this was hardly battered. Oh so good!
The service was friendly.
The atmosphere was friendly too as the customers were chatty. It really was a delightful experience.
