Phoning ahead to have your order waiting is a popular approach among locals.
Feedback on the fish and chips is mixed. Some regulars consider it among the best fish and chips in Melbourne’s eastern suburbs, praising crispy batter and well-cooked flake. Others have found the batter chewy or the chips over-salted, so results can vary. Warning, you will not get your money’s worth here. FAT lamb souvlaki is tiny and overpriced, fish overcooked and everything else burnt. When called to speak with the manager they became argumentative immediately. Very poor form. Dog won’t even eat it
Very tasty fish & chips, best in the area! We’ve been going there for about 8 months now. Highly recommend the battered butterfish, calamari & king prawns 👍🏼 Service is fast, always ready in about 10-15 minutes. Call & order, so it’s ready when you get there. Ask for chicken salt for an interesting change 😉
Unfortunately the food was awful. The fish was overcooked, dry and tasted old. The potato cakes were partly raw and the only thing that was ok were the chips.
Sorry to see the previous owners go as it use to be a great fish n chip shop
The flake batter was chewy, not crunchy, the fish itself was okay. The burger bun was a bit too bready, the patty was cooked to a dry crisp. The potato cakes were okay but didn’t elevate our order beyond mediocre. Service was nice and friendly but wait time for in store orders was an unacceptable 25 minutes.
Fairly average fish and chips although the batter on the fish and potato cakes wasn’t nice and too thick especially for the thin slice of potato in the potato cakes. Nice chips and good serving size.
Yum! Bonus potato cake, and very generous serving of fish (or even bonus piece of fish). Friendly bunch of girls. Fast service.
Unfortunately, this was the worst fish and chips I’ve ever had. Our family of four took a few bites, but most of it went in the bin. The meal was expensive, soggy, and extremely over salted, with some items missing. There are definitely better options in the area.
We just had Friday night fish n chips (obviously). 3 young girls running the show! They were like a well-oiled machine and were calm and professional! Our fish n chips was the best I’ve had in ages. Crispy but not soaked in oil. The flake batter is delicious and nothing over salted. Potato cakes, crabsticks, spring roll and fried dummies all crispy and fresh. Shout out to the 3 young ladies! Smile girls! Thanks for a delish dinner.
