I had such a good time at Hunky Dory Fish & Chips in moonee ponds! I was walking around on the street looking for a place to eat and saw this restaurant. What caught my attention was how they have FRESH fish on ice at the front. I love how you’re able to see the fish to know you’re getting fresh fish. I had the flake, but next time I might try another fish.
They were also really busy so I said why not try it! So glad I did, the fish and chips were AMAZING! Especially for the price of the fish! I’ll definitely be coming back, had a really good experience here.
So people I went here for late family lunch with my hubby and kids today the service was great by marie Grace lovely girl she took care of all our needs but the food not so much , not that a lot of things were wrong with the foods it was a few things and chips is one of them it’s was just to crunchy and hard for my liking and my kids and also I ordered the panko fish burger for myself and I was not pleased with it as it was to hot and I could not even eat it and on top of that I found a piece of hair on my burger 😝🤮 but thanks God when I showed it to the waitress Marie grace she apologised and she took it away and asked me if I wanted the same thing or something else and I told her something else and she got me the option I wanted which was the Brumandi with salad and rice. The fish was good but the salad and rice I was not happy with as the rice was blent and the salad not so much flavour there, it just was not seasoned properly guys normally hunky dory is one of my favourite place to go too to eat out with family but this time I was disappointed at their foods they could do better .
PERFECTION!! Hunky Dory Moonee Ponds catered for my family dinner, the food was take away and everything was nice and hot. The calamari was next level, the chicken skewers 10/10 as always and the fish was cooked to perfection. DON’T GO PAST THE POTATO CAKES MUST TRY!! The team at Moonee Ponds never disappoint
Really enjoyed my meal at Hunky Dory! I had the grilled fish with salad and a side of greens, and everything was fresh and well-prepared. The fish had great flavor and was nicely cooked.

Got some takeaway at HD and as always it was delicious. Flake, dimsim, potato cake and calamari where cooked well. The batter was thin and serving were generous. The only thing was the salad was lacking dressing but was fresh and veggies crispy. Also, unfortunately due to the travel time, my chips did become a bit soggy so my partner and I would like to eat in next time! Service was prompt and only took about 10 minutes for eveything to be ready. Will definitely be back over summer.

Thought we give this place another chance, this is the 2nd time we’ve been here and it has never been fresh or properly prepared. Who do you guys hire, seriously!

The atmosphere is cool. Has good Music and a TV that plays well. They have well lighting.
