About
Manchester Road Fish & Chips is a well-regarded takeaway and delivery spot serving the Mooroolbark community, with a decent reputation built steadily across a good number of reviews. The shop keeps things casual and focused, with no dine-in seating, making it a straight-forward destination for a quality feed to take home.
The menu covers the classics and then some. Regulars speak highly of the seafood combo, praising the freshness and flavour across the board. The fish is known for a satisfyingly crispy batter with tender flesh inside, and the chips are consistently well cooked. Dim sims and potato cakes both feature, and for something a little different, the battered Mars bar is a crowd pleaser that gets a mention more than once. Whiting also makes an appearance, lightly battered and done well. Steak sandwiches round out a menu that covers more ground than the shopfront might suggest.
Families are well catered for, with a kids’ menu available and staff who have earned a reputation for being friendly and approachable. The owners are a familiar presence, and that consistency shows in the loyal following the shop has built over the years. Free parking is available on site, along with wheelchair-accessible car parking, and card and NFC mobile payments are accepted.
For anyone in the Mooroolbark area hunting down a reliable fish and chip shop for lunch or dinner, this one is worth checking out. Phone ahead for larger orders during the Friday night rush.

Never ever order from this place, we ordered our dinner in which cost over $100, we didn’t receive half of it, it was all black and burnt and was sooo oily and the remaining food was soooo disgusting, tried to call up and ask for a refund in which they refused.
NEVER ORDER FROM THEM EVER
Ordered some whiting and a deep fried Mars bar. The batter was nice and crispy and the fish tender, chips were pretty good and well cooked, overall not bad.
Went there last Sunday and got the seafood combo, really like it, everything tastes good and fresh, highly recommend.
I will give them the benefit of the doubt on the last order as the snapper ordered felt and tasted like it had been sun-dried 1st before cooked. Quite a lot of batter also. The dim sims and potato cakes were great for that batter fix that you sometimes need.
We have recently moved to the area, and wow, what a relief to find a great fish and chip shop so soon!!
Ordered the Double Fish Pack on a Friday night – very crispy, with a good amount of salt. Service was great also 😊
The onion rings are amazing. Thank you to the lady that served me today who was on her own. She saw i had dogs and came outside with my order whilst I was tying them to a pole. Excellent service thank you
The lunch pack is so fresh and delicious. I did swap a dim sim for an extra potato cake because I don’t like dim Sims. I’ve been ordering from this takeaway shop for years. Owners are really nice. Staff are friendly. All the food has been consistently good.
Have to shout out the blue grenadier as the fish is massive every time I order it, it’s so nice fried or grilled. It’s fresh and delicious!
don’t judge a book by its cover. The fish, chips, dim sims & steak sandwich’s was one of the best we’ve had. We aren’t from the area and definitely will be back when we drive through on our travels.
