About
Super Fish Shop is a casual, old-school fish and chip shop in Reservoir that has built a loyal following among locals who appreciate generous portions at honest prices. The menu leans on the classics: flake and chips is a firm favourite, and the value on offer keeps regulars coming back regularly. Potato cakes and dim sims round out the traditional offerings, and there are reports of more unusual items like chicken garlic balls drawing their own dedicated fans.
The shop operates for both lunch and dinner, with dine-in and takeaway available. Table service is offered during trading hours, making it a comfortable option for families, and a kids’ menu means younger diners are well looked after. Street parking is free nearby, and the venue accepts card and NFC mobile payments, so there is no need to carry cash.
Reviews are a mixed picture. Many regulars speak warmly of the friendly staff, with the owners noted for their welcoming manner. Portion sizes draw consistent praise, and the pricing is seen as fair for the Reservoir area. That said, some visitors have flagged inconsistency in the kitchen, with batter quality and oil freshness coming up as occasional concerns. The experience can vary from visit to visit, which is worth keeping in mind.
For a well-priced, no-fuss meal with above-average serves, Super Fish Shop is a solid option in Reservoir. Check opening hours before heading in, as the shop does not take reservations.

Fantastic old school fish and chip shop with big portions, cheap prices and plenty of salt. The people cooking and working there were very friendly. Will be going back for the chicken garlic balls
$10 flake and chips, the portion is quite big. Would go again when I feel like fish and chips again.
Super fish shop is genuinely the best fish and chips shop in reservoir and in my opinion the whole of Melbourne 😂. The portion sizes are wonderfull and the food is delicious. The owner Peter and his wife are lovely people, and always supply me and my friends with an extra potato cake when we order the $5 chips. Absolutely recommended if you’re in the area and craving some fish and chips.
Very generous sized portion for its price, tastes amazing as well
They need to change their oil more often.
Flake, potato cakes and fried dim sims were half burnt. Wont be ordering here again
I visited tonight for fish and chips, and unfortunately, it was a major disappointment. The chips were dry and overcooked, and the flake had a rubbery texture that made it difficult to eat. The hamburger was equally poor—tasteless and tough. To top it off, the potato cakes were tiny (roughly the size of my palm), and the dim sims were burnt they weren’t even edible.
Great local Fish and chippy shop and most importantly reasonable burger prices.
Tasty food although the chips now taste somewhat dry for whatever reason.
