Top Fish & Chip Shops in Richmond 1, VIC
Victoria's fish and chip trade runs to hundreds of shops, spread across many suburbs and towns, and it carries a very large body of customer reviews. Taken together the state comes out well rated, with several shops rating especially highly and several rating poorly, so the listings reward a bit of reading before you order. Nearly all of them are family friendly. About half do dine-in, and about half deliver.
Flake and barramundi turn up widely on Victorian boards. Hoki and whiting appear at several shops, while snapper, flathead, calamari and prawns show up occasionally. Potato cakes and dim sims are near-standard alongside the fish, souvlaki and burgers appear at several shops, and spring rolls, Chiko rolls, fish cakes and battered savs surface occasionally. Traditional Aussie is the dominant style, with Greek-Aussie, Italian-Aussie and multi-cuisine kitchens at several shops and the odd Asian fusion or modern menu. Where batter is described, it splits between light and crispy and traditional thick. A small number of shops record gluten free options, and a small number record halal food.
