About
Dolphin Fish & Chips is a takeaway spot in Seaford, Victoria, drawing a mixed crowd of locals looking for a quick, no-fuss meal. The shop is family friendly, with a kids’ menu available and free parking on-site and on the street, plus wheelchair-accessible entry and car park.
The menu covers the classics, and regulars point to the fish as a highlight. The batter is described as genuinely crunchy, and the fish portions are kept full rather than pressed flat, which is a common complaint about other fish and chip shops in the broader Frankston and Seaford area. The chips have also drawn praise from those who feel they hold their own against nearby competition. Steak sandwiches appear on the menu as well, and have been noted as a solid cooked-to-order option.
Feedback is varied. Some visitors have had excellent experiences with fresh, hot food, while others have raised concerns about portion sizes and consistency. The shop accepts credit cards, debit cards, and mobile payments, so no need to carry cash.
Worth a visit if you’re after a casual takeaway in Seaford, though phoning ahead for larger orders during busy periods is a practical idea.

Absolutely disgusting, fish bites bearly the size of McDonald’s nuggets, and they had the audacity to change me $1.30 each of all the fish& chips shops in the Seaford/Carrum downs area this place is by far the worst, even when i called to bring it to their attention they totally dismissed and basically said i was lying to them, flying fish which is the other fish&chip shop around the corner which wasn’t open unfortunately always apologise and would have most certainly given me a credit for next time!! Shame on you Dolphin fish and chips….
Best fish and chips bar none. Fish were full and juicy in crunchy batter. And they don’t flatten the fish like all the other fish and Chip shops in Melbourne. Highly recommended.
The hamburger was burnt so badly that it could not be eaten. Long after I had put it in the rubbish bin outside the burnt smell still lingered in my office. The chips were not freshly cooked I feel as if I got reheated a few times from sitting under the heat lamps also tasteless. The potato cakes were ordered with salt and vinegar I got neither. Not that it would have helped because they were uncooked and tasteless. I have experience in writing this review as I worked all my high school holidays in lygon st cafes. I know food. This was not to be consumed as it was NOT food.
I would never tell anyone to eat at this place, the female is extremely rude and she couldn’t smile or her face would crack.
Had fish and chips at this place 24/09/2025 and got a piece of bone in my fish and the burger was basically CREMATED the chips were that dry even our family dog wouldn’t eat them and that’s saying something because he is a staffy and they eat anything you put in front of him.
Please Please Please save yourself the disappointment and order elsewhere because it’s only a matter of time and someone is going to get so sick ( food poisoning )
Had an amazing steak sandwich here. Cooked fresh and piping hot. Ordered in store. Thankyou so much for my decent lunch!
Worst fish and chips have had in a long time. Potato cakes were well over cooked. Hard and dry. The flake was small like a junior flake. Chips average.
the food was amazing, the chips were way better than any other fish n chips chop in frankston/seaford. would/will be having again.
