About
Seagull Fish & Chips has built a strong reputation in Frankston North, drawing locals and visitors alike who rate it among the best fish and chip shops in the region. With well over four and a half stars from a healthy number of reviews, the consistent praise speaks for itself.
The menu covers the classics done well. Flake arrives with an extremely crunchy batter and stays juicy inside, which is the detail that keeps regulars coming back. The potato cakes are a talking point in their own right, notably thick and far better than the average version found at most fish and chip shops. Calamari rings, fried dim sims, chips, and a hot dog in batter round out a menu that covers all the bases. Portion packs are available for those feeding a group, combining flake, dim sims, and potato cakes in a single order.
The shop is family friendly with a dedicated kids’ menu, and dine-in, takeaway, and no-contact delivery are all on offer. It is open for lunch and dinner, wheelchair accessible at the car park and entrance, and free parking is available on-site and on the street. The team is well regarded for running a tight, friendly operation at prices that don’t hurt the wallet.
For anyone exploring the Frankston area and searching for genuinely good fish and chips, this place is worth putting on the list. Phone ahead during the dinner rush if you’re planning a larger order.

Possibly the best fish & chip shop we’ve ever been to. Whole family ate here 2 days in a row during our trip. First day we had fish & chips, scallops and calamari rings. Even the potato cakes that came with them, which are usually gross and oily were amazing. The calamari were some of the softest I’ve ever had.
Second day we had kebabs. The sauce in particular…. It was amazing.
Will happily eat here again next time we’re in the area. Google reviews served us well in this case!
After doing extensive research (asking the local Facebook group and scouring reviews) finally got around to trying this place and was not disappointed!
There’s a lot of fish and chips near the beach all claiming to be it, but this place was tasty, fresh and so well cooked. Had a great online ordering and pay system so could track and see everything ahead of time. Well priced and quick to cook with great service.
My biggest regret was not taking a better photo but we were so tempted by the smell that we tucked right in. Our new go to fish and chip shop, well done!
One important note: this potato cake is THICCC. Love it.
This is the pack 2, with 2 flakes, 2 dim sims, 2 potato cakes and minimum chips. Flake batter is extremely crunchy, and still juicy inside. Dimmys were average, not much to say here. Chips were good with the classic chicken salt, but also average for a takeaway. Still a bit crispy once at home.
One thing I should have asked for is maybe some lemon or sauce, my bad for not requesting.
Service/atmos could be a bit better from a welcome perspective, but most likely getting slammed with orders.
Lovely crispy batter, fresh flake fried to perfection, the best place for fish & chips in this region
The team here are amazing. Such a well run fish and chip shop with great quality food at affordable prices. Keep up the great work.
Missing items for delivery. Steamed dim sims not received, and no salt put on anything and the sauce not provided. Loved the details we were able to include for ordering but pretty pointless if it isn’t followed. Grateful for Uber Eats allowing refunds on incorrect orders.
Still on the hunt for the best potato cake. This is up there. Particularly loved the mussels in batter.
Had some great value packs to order.
Yummy fish and chips at a great price! It’s hard to get some decent and affordable fish and chips these days but Seagull fish & chips were rated amongst the best in Frankston so we had to check them out. Would have it again 👍
