I just moved to the area recently and this was my first visit. Whiting and Chips – The BEST fish and chips I’ve ever had. Literally the best chips and battered fish (not to mention the home made chicken salt). First time and definitely not my last. No photos because I inhaled it. 5/5
Old school fish and chips that never fails. The batter is light, generous portions, fresh and well seasoned. Lovely couple that ran it. So lucky to have this place as my local F & C.
Felt so welcomed! Exceptional service, so warm and friendly. Fish was huge and tasty and those chips and chicken salt were so crunchy. Cheeky extra potato cake thrown in which is always appreciated! Had to go a battered hot dog as well and it was tasty as!

Tried fish and chips from here and it was such a great experience. Fish was very fresh and crispy on the outside. Definitely great value and would highly recommend!
Absolutely amazing. I moved here from England almost 10 years ago now, and I’ve been on the hunt for good fish and chips… it seems like I’ve finally found my place at Vernon’s! Everything was fresh, hot and tasty. The batter was so light and crispy and tastes delicious! The fish (flake) was really fresh and tender and on a side note the battered sausages was one of the best I’ve had in my life! Truly delicious fish and chips and really good customer service too 🙂 5 stars for everything
