Great fish and chips. Light and crispy homemade batter. Even the potato cakes were crispy. Only complaint would be, they need to either drain oil from food for longer or at least put absorbent paper in the box. Just slightly too oily for my liking. Wasn’t too bad, but if they did that it would be 10 out of 10 for their fish and chips.
New owners? Because it is three strikes now in the past 6 weeks. Food is poor, service is slow, just a shame, this was such a fantastic fish and chip shop. Honestly, if you are searching Sunbury (with so many options) this would be well down the list now.
Great customer service, friendly owner and staff. Great prices for amazingly tasty fish and chips. Haven’t had a big thick piece of fish like this in a while. Potato cakes were also very thick. The chips were the yummiest we have had in ages. Wish they were closer to Hillside. But I would travel for food like this.

We have ordered here a few times. Every time everything is way to oily. Not sure whats going on with the cooking if it’s overcooked, bad oil or something else but everything is super crispy and over oily.

My flake was somehow overcooked while the batter was mush on the inside felt like expired milk and the chips were just way way way way undersalted first time here maybe I just got a bad lot but yeah not great
New owners are like a breath of fresh air, exactly what Melba needed. Food is lovely and consistent. Top notch. Wait time was a little bit longer than expected, but well worth the wait (and it was a Saturday night so…). They even gave me an extra steamed dim sim and apologised. Would recommend. 👍👌
