About
Furlong Fish & Chips brings a proper old-school fish and chip shop experience to Sunshine North, with a solid four-plus-star reputation built on straightforward, well-executed classics. The shop operates for both lunch and dinner, with dine-in seating available alongside takeaway, kerbside pickup, and delivery, making it one of the more flexible options in the area.
The menu leans into the traditional favourites that regulars keep coming back for. Flake is a fixture, served with lemon, and the potato cakes and dim sims draw consistent praise for coming out perfectly cooked, with a satisfying crunch rather than the soggy texture that lets so many chip shops down. The burgers are noted for holding together well, which sounds like a small thing but matters when you’re eating on the go. Chicken nuggets round out the menu for younger diners, and there is a dedicated kids’ menu to keep families well covered.
The fit-out is clean and the staff are friendly, and the pace of service is reliably quick even during busy periods. Payment by card or NFC mobile is accepted, and free street parking is available out front. The shop is family-friendly and welcoming to groups, with a casual atmosphere that suits a relaxed meal in or a quick pickup on the way home.
For anyone around Sunshine North looking for a fish and chips spot that keeps things simple and gets the basics right, Furlong Fish & Chips is worth checking out. See opening hours and menu below.

I’m a picky eater, yet the chips and potato cakes are so crunchy, not soggy. Chicken nuggets are good, the flake comes with lemon, the burgers are great and don’t fall apart when eating them, the dimmies are superb, AND they take card!!
Do not order the fried fish. We ordered flake and although it was reasonably tasty, it was not real fish. It was more like a fish patty than a genuine piece of flake that had these dark brown patches that looked like fake fish. The chiko roll was good and the chips were nice. But we won’t be buying fish from here again.
If I could give 0 stars I would. This was by far the worst fish & chips I have ever been served. My flake looked like it was put through the dishwasher and overall the meal should have been put in the trash.. instead they still served it to a customer. This is what it looks like when you buy a business and have no clue what you are doing. Please close down 😘 i will not be back. Prob should contact the health department… please stay away if you value your health.
Old school fish and chips done properly. Fast too. Flake was perfect potato cakes and dimmies cooked just right. Really happy.
Cold chips, rock hard potato cakes, worst hot dog in batter we’ve ever had. Pineapple fritter was also disgusting. Fish was trash
Very clean and friendly 🥹they are amazing
Food was sooo yum and delicious
Price is great as well
Extremely disappointed with my lunch. I ordered the flake and a potato cake, and it was honestly the worst I’ve ever had. The flake didn’t even seem like real fish—it was more like a giant, heavily processed fish finger with no actual flesh or texture. It felt very fake. I now drive 5km further away just to get the “real deal” elsewhere. Save your taste buds & money.
Not at all what i expected from a fish n chip shop..they sold womens clothing also…🤪
