Was told 20 minutes. Arrived at 25 just to be safe. A little while later while waiting in their fine establishment I decided to quickly duck off to the 90 mile and caught some flake. On the way home I also did a round trip for some Thorpy spuds. By the time I’d got back, prepped the fish, peeled the spuds and threw them all in their fryers to speed up the process I’d gotten my food 57 minutes after ordering!
In all seriousness though, the food was soggy, soft and rubbery. Absolutely flabbergasted!

First time there. Was there a few minutes before our phone order was due to be ready. Fish were taken out of oil and only drained for 5-10 seconds before putting on top of rest of order. She then looked at order and realised they forgot the potato cake. Grabbed a precooked potato cake from under counter and put it in cooker for less than a minute, then stuck it on top of the rest of the order.
Surprise, surprise, it was not cooked and was hard, and everything was oily. Won’t be going there again. Only positive was it was ready on time ☹️
Just went in at approx 5.10 pm, flies all over the shop. Asked the salesperson to ensure they didn’t use the top layers of paper as there were flies crawling all over it, at which point she started swatting them dead and actually picked one up with her fingers and disposed of it on the floor. She at no point washed her hands.
After that, as she went to wrap my burger I again asked her to not use the top paper, she ignored me.
The shop had only one other customer who made a complaint as she had been waiting 35 minutes for 3 potato cakes and a dim sim.
I decided there was no way I could eat or enjoy this food so demanded a refund, which was given.
I have been using this shop for many years and am disgusted at their attitude and standards.
Fish and chips very good but scallops u need to do some work on them burnt batter scallops all shrivelled up under the batter u have to do better
This store once served up nice crispy battered items with the perfect amount of seasoning to their chips.
Once again I’ve been left disappointed with the quality of what I’ve received.
Soggy chips. No hint of passion from the staff anymore. And even after requesting ‘extra crispy batter’ received an oil soaked floury sludge.
I’ll gladly drive the extra 5 minutes to avoid this store from now on & advise others to reach beyond your comfort zone.
My family and I have come here for over 30 years long before Tess brought it. When Tess is on the food is unrivalled but when shes not the food is unfortunately nothing but a pile of disappointment. Soggy chips with barely any salt, overcooked potato cakes, soggy dagwood dogs, hamburger that was horrible and it was clear the woman on had no clue what she was doing and so far out of her depth being there by herself. She didn’t even know how to use the eftpos machine and forced me to get cash out
24/01: Had THE-BEST BATTER on our dim sims, potato cakes and fish pieces!, whoever made it needs a raise! Keep it up! Made our night, thankyou!
