Ordered potato scallops and pineapple fritters. Portions were generous, but potato scallops were so thick and stodgy, barely cooked through with thick undercooked parts of batter, with the rest barely crispy. So bland too, barely tasted like any seasoning was used. Normally I’m not fussy with this type of food, but it was so undercooked most went in the bin 🙁
Recently had to go out of my way for fish and chips tonight because my local was closed and I would have to say I am seriously considering the extra 15 minute drive as worth it.
The strong points are, the family meal is directly comparable to other stores, they offer snapper as their default fish on the deal which is a major value bonus when compared to upgrade costs from hake elsewhere, it was busy yet I did not wait for very long for my meal and it was well wrapped for the longer trip home to keep it hot.
This is not to say it is perfect. The batter they use is not quite as crispy as other places and holds a little more oil than comparisons. If you can battle that with fresh pineapple fritters then I think the better fish is a real motivator to come back. Especially given pricing.
Just ordered from here for the first time, gravy we had to heat ourselves granted they put a note on the bag with instructions on how to heat in the microwave. Potato scallops were rock hard and raw inside the batter. Fish was ice cold, portion sizes were good if this was cooked properly it would of been worth the money. Will not be buying here again.
Young lady who took our order over the phone was so lovely. They even gave us extra piece of grilled fish because they thought the pieces were smaller than normal. Food is always fresh!
Hi guys, visitor from Kalgoorlie, came on 7th and 8th, had 2 snapper, 4 scallops and chips.

The Baldivis Square fish and chips shop is excellent ALL the staff and the owner are friendly and helpful and Clean they ALWAYS wash their hands when entering the shop. Mostly your order depending on how big it is. Is usually ready in 10-15 mins. You can order in the shop or over the phone. They have a large choice of meals and they are very reasonably priced. The batter on the fish is excellent and the chips are cooked just right. There are seats inside to sit on if you need them while you wait for your order. There is a small table for 2-3 outside, but mostly it’s takeaway. There is an IGA, bakery and a berger shop one minute’s walk away. It’s wheel chair accessable and there is plenty of parking very close by.
Not a big fish person, but when I get a hunger for it this is my ho to place.
Price is very good and large servings
