About
Lick Ya Lips Fish & Chips is a family-friendly fish and chip shop in Golden Bay, on the southern edge of Perth’s coastal corridor. The menu features a signature dish called the Flying Solo, alongside calamari, mackerel, and seafood options that regulars return to week after week. Chip serves are generous, and the batter is noted for coming out crisp and golden when the kitchen is firing on all cylinders.
The shop is open for lunch and dinner with takeaway available, making it a practical choice for families after a straightforward, filling meal. A kids’ menu is on offer, and free parking plus wheelchair access make the visit easy for most. Counter staff are known for being friendly and cheerful, and the owners are happy to have a chat, which gives the place a welcoming, neighbourhood feel that keeps locals coming back.
Quality can vary between visits, so it pays to go during a busy service when the oil is fresh and turnover is high. On a good run, the fish melts in the mouth and the batter holds its crunch all the way home.
Phone ahead during the dinner rush to keep wait times short.

My fish and chips were the perfect shade of gold and tasty! The seafood stick, chips, mackerel and calamari were cooked perfectly! Thank you for dinner ☺️
Have never had an issue. Food is always amazing. But tonight was let down as our 6 potato cakes were left out of our order. We were there tonight 11/9/24 at approximately 7pm docket number 81. Would appreciate call for refund or reorder of missing 6 potato cakes. My number is 0452319132. Cheers
First time trying lick ya lips fish & chips. Myself and family had the lick ya lips special and thought this was the best fish & chips we have had. Omg the batter was so fresh, crisp and golden, the fish was beautiful, melts in your mouth. The quid rings were cooked perfect, not chewy or stringy at all. Was very generous with the $5 chips that come with it. The prawns, crab sticks and dim sims were also lovely.
We will definitely be back again
The WORST ever fish and chips i have had. Ripped off on food and 3 fried Mars bars has long hair in them. Staff unwilling to refund the difference between advertised price and price on menu and expected us to drive back with food that hair was found in after already going to pick it up. Charged us $80 when menu CLEARLY stated it should be $59.80 and that was without the 3 hairy fried mars bars. WILL NEVER ORDER OR RECOMMEND THIS PLACE EVER AGAIN. RUDE, Disgusting service
Good job we had some rain today, because god knows my battered sausage needed some moisture.
Gave this chippy the benefit of the doubt as the first time was terrible too.
Definitely won’t be back
Great shop, reasonable prices. Fresh oil and quick. Food is always great and fresh, have tried all in the area and this has become our weekly fish and chips shop.
Always the best service and with a smile! Always glad to travel a little further from home to get our fish and chips from here. The owners always happy to have a chat about business and the counter staff are always smiling and cheerful.
My husband and 2 girls came and ordered from here for the first time tonight ( 27th of feb 2026).
I am sad to say it was the worst fish and chips we have ever had.
We ordered the 2 kids packs, my husband got a pack for himself, and i ordered chips, pineapple fritters and onion rings.
Everything was burnt and the chips were so hard.
We couldnt really eat much to be honest. But the drive and being on the beach at sunset was nice.
I must say the servive and young girl on counter was lovely.
Looks like a busy place and in an amazing spot. Hopefully this will help lift standards
