About
Maida Vale Fish & Chips is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the High Wycombe and Maida Vale area, with a solid four-plus star reputation built on straightforward, good-value cooking. The menu covers the classics, including fish and chips done in traditional battered style, and the dim sims are a highlight worth ordering. The steamed dim sim option in particular draws repeat visits from locals who know their way around the menu.
The shop has a loyal following, with some regulars having come back for decades without a bad serve to report. Staff are friendly and the service moves quickly even during busy lunch and dinner periods, which speaks to a well-run floor. The team includes local young staff, giving the place a genuine community feel that extends beyond just the food.
Families are well catered for, with a relaxed dine-in space and a wheelchair-accessible car park making the shop easy to visit for a range of customers. Both dine-in and takeaway are available, so a sit-down meal or a grab-and-go order both work here. One thing worth noting: payment at the counter is cash only, so it pays to come prepared, though an ATM is available nearby.
For anyone looking for fish and chips in the High Wycombe area, this shop delivers honest, affordable food in a friendly setting. Check opening hours before heading in for dinner.

So ordered feed for 3 people. Chips , potato scallops, dim Sims, garlic bread and a piece of snapper …
This disrespectful company served me basa or something gross and slimey… Not to mention the size and shape or the fillet .. U ain’t never seen a narrow snapper and the tell tale sign is the flesh doesn’t separate like snapper and the taste is gross.
Further more the food was bland and very tasteless apart from the strong greasy aftertaste… All in all not a happy customer and we will be back tomorrow for a full refund form this crap U tried to pass off as snapper.
Local fish and chip shop offering a range of different deep fried items including the standard fish and chips.
They have a steamed or fried dimsum option and the steamed dimsims are worth trying. Very tasty
Really great when I first went there, food was well presented and yummy price was reasonable then after going there for a few visits it seem to go backwards. Food was not as good for the price especially the grilled fish. It was dry and old so I gave them another chance and bought fish”N” chips with grilled fish aswell and the fish was worse, dry and old. We live too far to take it back so all the food went into the rubbish and kiss goodbye to the $40 I spent there.
Not sure if management changed but I know for sure I have.
The chips were still white as though they had just been dunked in the oil to just cook them but didn’t come out golden, crisp or tasty. Worst chips I’ve ever had.
CASH ONLY!! There is an ATM nearby but it doesn’t do cardless cash and I only had my ph and no wallet. Busy, well staffed and prompt service.
Good food at a good price. Far better than Newburn Street. People are friendly. My new go to place for fish and chips
The only good fish and chips in the entire area. Been going here 20 yrs + . Never had a bad Serving. Always puts extra things in for us. Family business that employs heaps of local kids to help out. Yummy food!
Excellent fish and chips, authentic taste and generous portions. Cash only.
