Anyone who knows these Place knows the shop very tired and needs a facelift. I’ve been noticing a lot of people giving this place a bit of a bashing since it’s new ownership.
The man behind the counter had excellent customer service, I got the crumbed Grenadier and asked for a potato Scallop and they threw an extra one , gotta love that.
The potato scallops are right up there with the best I’ve had Thin batter a big slice of potato, fresh and hot.
The Crumbed Grenadier was just as you’d expect it to be , fresh and good crumb.
I love a Greek salad, but I had to get it next door They do have a salad there.
About about $15 bucks.

So disappointing. Drove 20 mins out to grab it. It’s definitely gone down hills. Chips tastes a mixture of old and undercooked.
Fish was undercooked, calamari rings my daughter spat out – also undercooked. Had to pull out the air fryer. Husband and daughter now using the chips to throw at each other because it’s not worth eating
We have been coming here for years, but I did not realise until recently that they had changed ownership. However, the guy behind the counter was really friendly and professional and the fish and chips were great. Very generous portion sizes and the food was cooked well and very tasty. The place needs a bit of a facelift, but that can happen in time, and for us the food quality is the main thing. Overall a good job. We will be back!
I wasn’t sure about the inclusions of the burgers so I rang and asked what I would get as a standard with the burger. They advised it would be lettuce tomato beetroot and onion, then your add ons. I ordered online accordingly. When the burgers arrived 2 of the 3 burgers were missing the lettuce tomato and beetroot. I called them and asked again and they said they should have had this on them. The potato scallops had a funny taste. Asked for chicken salt couldn’t taste any salt on the chips. The burger wasn’t actually bad, a bit dry without the salad. A bit annoyed as t I did ring to ensure I was going to get what I wanted on the burger and still didn’t get what we wanted. I will just make my own next time.
My kids love your chips, they will finish the whole medium size.
The whole family like the crumble fish and the sea scallops, you would know as my husband always come and buy the scallops for me especially 😆

YUCK. Grilled fish tasted strongly of bleach or ammonia, and was cooked to the consistency of snot. Threw the entire meal into the bin. Using chemicals to mask old ingredients is disgusting. Will never go back.
AMAZING! The food was extremely tasty, staff was friendly, smiling faces and happy customer service. The fish was to die for, 10/10 would go back every week for fish. The family was fighting over the chips which were perfectly crisp and absolutely delectable.
Bring back the original Bernies.
Don’t you just hate when a fantastic fish and chip shop offering the most amazing fresh fish and in house cut chips gets bought out and becomes another Canberra basic takeaway selling basic food.

The battered fish smelt off and tasted disgusting. I’m not sure how chips can be flavorless but they are.
