I wouldn’t agree with world famous but the good wasn’t bad.
We ordered the Family Basket as there was 5 of us and it had a variety of items included such as fish cocktails, seafood sticks, calamari, prawn cocktails, chips etc for $65.
It was a good 10 minute wait after ordering which wasn’t too bad as it was busy.
The good was hot and tasty but the batter was a bit greasier than I like and the chips had next to no salt on them, even though I asked for extra chicken salt and we were given a very light smattering of regular salt.
Over all, not too bad for the price as the portion was huge but also a little disappointing at the same time.
The foods were well balanced. However, the long line made the experience feel less enjoyable. The portion sizes were decent, though not quite enough to justify the cost. Overall, it’s a place worth visiting if you’re willing to wait and spend a bit extra for quality food.
Pretty standard fish and chip shop that’s always busy (but likely because of its location on the main tourist strip rather than because of standout food). The fish is fine, though the batter is on the heavier side, and the chips are just chips. We’ve been coming here for years out of habit/tradition/a weird sense of loyalty, and the quality has stayed the same, not better, not worse.
They do branch out with things like chowder, tacos, and burritos and I always appreciate somewhere that diversifies their menu, but most of these items were pretty average as well. I must say though that the prawn burrito looked super pretty and had good flavour, but I was let down because inside there were only tiny pieces of prawns in it and most of the filling was white rice.
Delicious and fresh seafood with crispy, golden-battered fish and perfectly cooked chips! The shrimp were crunchy and flavorful, and the tacos were fresh and well-seasoned. Excellent service from the staff, making the experience even better. Highly recommend for a great fish and chips meal!
We came here at night so we didn’t experience any long lines which was good. Greta location.
However the fish was ok nothing amazing and they charge $2.5 for each sauce I think is a bit expensive other than that pretty good
Ordered fried snapper fillets paid $25 for what I think was shark fillet, there batter is absolutely disgusting. Previous owner would be mortified by what its turned into.
Avoid. Cooks with oil way to hot the crumbs and batter is almost burnt but the fish is raw in places and the potato in the potato scallops was hard still.
Tables were filthy even after being washed by rain.
World famous for being the worst ever, so we asked the server were the tables outside for sharing he said yes take any table , before we got to sit a very salty staff member from next door rudely chased us and told us that the tables belonged to her resturant, and told off the server, anyways we had a dozen oysters, some king prawns and some fish tacos. 1. The oysters were room temp is the fridge broken? 2. Prawns room temp not fresh, fish tacos @ 15 bucks for two, each was a sliver of bagged frozen fish with dry lettuce and a sprinkle of raw chilli capsicum and cucumber, not a hint of any attempt to do anything other than deep fry the frozen fish….the taco bread was stale and crumbly. The two servers appeared disinterested they both were forgetting to add everyone’s sauce to their orders. we ate the oysters and prawns and i went in to wait for the tacos despite the two boxes being on the counter for 10 mins no attempt to call my number, and when i asked for them the server looked completely surprised. Anyways world famous for getting almost everything wrong and let’s see how the warm oysters and prawns turn out. not recommended
