About
Mount Hutton Fish and Chips is a no-fuss suburban takeaway that has earned a solid reputation among locals in the Mount Hutton area of New South Wales. The menu leans into classic fish and chip shop fare, with the works burger drawing consistent praise from regulars who remember this style of burger from childhood. Hamburgers and fish and chips round out the core offerings, and the shop also turns out a well-battered scallop with a satisfyingly crispy coating.
A few surprises appear on the menu too. Grilled hoki with a Madras curry is an unexpected option that earns its share of fans, showing there is a little more range here than the typical suburban chippy. Chips are reported to be crunchy and well-made, and the battered fish comes up sweet and golden.
The atmosphere is casual and welcoming, with friendly owners who make families feel at home. A kids’ menu, wheelchair-accessible entry and car park, and free parking on site make it a practical choice for a wide range of diners. Friday and Saturday evenings tend to get busy, so it pays to allow a little extra time during the dinner rush on weekends.
For anyone around Mount Hutton looking for a proper old-school fish and chip shop experience at fair prices, this one is well-rated and worth the stop. Phone ahead on busy evenings to save some time.

Tasty food, great prices and friendly staff. Old school fish and chip shops with proper works burgers! I highly recommend this place!
Proper suburban fish and chip takeaway shop. Great tasting burger. Scallop had good batter, nice and crispy.
Most importantly is the friendly service.
Always a lovely place to stop and get lunch or tea, for yourself or the family, I know my toddler loves their chips. The owners are very friendly and lovely. Plus their food tastes great too.
Great crunchy chips and sweet battered fish. Grilled hoki with Madras curry a surprise but very tasty. A little slow but worth the wait. Take away only.
