About
Pacific Seafood Warners Bay is a takeaway fish and chip shop on the western shore of Lake Macquarie, catering to both lunch and dinner trade. The menu leans heavily toward fresh and cooked seafood, with highlights including Australian snapper, flathead fillets, school prawns, king prawns, salmon fillets, tuna steak, and a fisherman’s basket. Free street and car park parking is available nearby, with wheelchair-accessible bays, making it easy to stop in for a quick meal or a seafood purchase.
The shop draws a family-friendly crowd and is well set up for kids, with a children’s menu on offer. Regulars who visit specifically for the raw, uncooked seafood selection tend to speak positively about the freshness of those products and find the staff pleasant to deal with.
Reviews are more mixed when it comes to the cooked side of the menu. Some visitors have found chips arriving cold or stale, and a handful of regulars have raised concerns about prawns and shellfish not meeting expectations in terms of flavour. It is worth calling ahead to ask about the day’s stock, particularly for specialty items like bugs or crabs, if freshness is a priority for the trip.
Card and NFC mobile payments are accepted. A decent option for Warners Bay fish and chips, particularly for those after raw seafood to take home and cook themselves. Phone ahead to confirm availability of specific items before making the drive.

This is the second time we’ve bought from here. Both times the ‘fresh’ prawns have clearly been frozen despite my asking about this in store. Both times the prawns had zero flavour. It was a huge waste of money as we ended up feeding it to our dogs. When I rang to talk to somebody about it, no one would answer the phone, despite several attempts. If I could give zero stars I would. I will never buy from this store again.
Paid over 10 dollars each for bugs got them home, opened them and they smelt disgusting, thrown in the bin. Crabs also taste like theyve been frozen. Annoyed because i drove 45 minutesto get them.
Fisherman’s basket is quite filling. But the chips were old, stale and cold. And the rest of it was luke warm.
Only way to make it edible was to chuck them in the oven for a while…so that was disappointing.
Disgusting. I requested 2 dozen SYDNEY ROCK OYSTERS and was sold Pacific oysters wrapped up before I could see as I bought prawns and fish as well. They ended up in garbage. NOT OK to say Don’t understand!
I have been several times only for the fresh uncooked seafood and I have not been disappointed. I have had everything they offer and can vouch that the seafood is definitely fresh, no issues at all so far. Friendly staff. All was purchased and cooked myself same day.
So disappointed. My mother and I have been regulars to Pacific Seafood Warners Bay, often calling in for a takeaway lunch after our numerous medical appointments at the John Hunter Hospital or the Calvary Mater Hospital. Unfortunately, we made the mistake of calling in later in the day. All the seafood was pre cooked and sitting in the warmer including a mountain of yellow chips. I wished I’d walked away but mumand I were craving our usually delicious and freshly cooked fish and chips, so I bought our usual. We stopped by the lake to eat our food. Over $45 later, the seagulls got a great feed that evening. The calamari was dried out and tough, the cocktail fish tasted off and the chips tasted like wood chips. Sorry to say, it’s too much money to waste on awful food.= and you have lost two customers who often buy extra to take home. May I suggest that you only keep little amounts of pre cooked food in your warmers and go to the effort of cooking your food fresh.
Their potato scallops are more expensive then the king prawns.. to expensive for your smoko break..
I pre ordered for Christmas (paying a deposit two days prior to pickup) but when I went to pick up the price had jumped $10 a kilo. I questioned this but got ‘oh sorry’. I’m just sorry I didn’t insist on a refund and walk the few metres to Coles. I don’t mind paying a little more to smaller local business but this experience left me speechless at the time. Won’t be going back.
