About
The Swordfish Co in Warners Bay has earned decent reviews from locals who appreciate straightforward, well-executed fish and chips. The shop’s signature dish is QLD sand whiting, and the broader menu covers snapper, barramundi, cocktail fish, and scallops. Chips are a highlight in their own right, hand-cut from quality potatoes and praised for being crispy without being greasy.
A recent refurbishment has noticeably lifted the experience here. The dining space is casual and comfortable, the service is quick, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. Both dine-in and takeaway are available, making it easy to suit the occasion.
Families are well catered for with a dedicated kids menu, and the shop takes gluten-free requirements seriously, with staff mindful of cross-contamination. For a fish and chip shop in the Warners Bay area that covers the bases without fuss, this one is worth keeping on the list.

Our F&C pack’s were good, but prices bit high for what you get, no salad included.
Chips were bit on dry side.
You get a good amount of chips, but maybe a better quality chip, and smaller portion, as many customers leave some chips.
Fish was nice.
In good location, and it’s quiet busy.
Great location, good service and food was just fine, not as amazing as we had anticipated, perhaps should try other options next time.
Was not too busy, the wait wasn’t long either.
Purchased takeaways (chicken burger, prawn with chips, and Barramundi with beetroot and walnuts salad).
Oh my Gawd!!! This is the best battered fish I’ve had in many many years. Lovely light batter, not too greasy, and absolutely delicious.
The chips weren’t too shabby either.
I’ll be back!!
Our family ate here for lunch, was our first time coming, and we loved it! Even when it rained heavy we stayed dry with all the doors opened, we service was quick, the staff were friendly and the food was great ✨👌🏻
This will definitely be one of our go-to places for fish and chips!
You guys have managed to turn a sorry fish and chips shop into a fantastic place. It was lovely service from the young lad on the counter to the cooks working so well together. If I was the manger here I’d be stoked!
Unsure if the owners have changed in this place over the years. But years and years ago when I used to go as a child it was the best fish and chips around. Glad to see that it still is. The chips seem to be handcut. Very crispy, not oily. The chicken Burger was amazing, had a good crunch to it. And the fish was cooked well. A bit pricy (at $35 for fish, chips, drink and sauce) but still worth stopping at if you’re in the area for one of the better fish and chips you’ll get.
Great Value for money and great care taken with presentation and flavour in the platter for 2!!!!!! More like for 4. Scallops and prawns were the favourite.
Went on a friday night with my best friend, it was fairly busy at this time but not packed. We ordered the Fish pack for 2 and 2 Pineapple fritters on the side. The wait ended up being 45 minutes which is quite long, yet if the food was good would have been worth while. However, the food was very disappointing, the amount of oil and grease on every single item is quite literally indescribable, it was so bad that the oil was seeping out of the box it came in and was dripping on the table. After eating only a few bites of the food, me and my friend could not eat any more as we felt sick from the shear amount of oil and grease. Which is a massive shame, because it was quite expensive for what we got yet would have been worthwhile if we could actually taste another flavour besides oil. Overall, i would not recommend this place to get fish and chips, unless they fix this serious issue.
