The name is deceitful , we stopped here on the way home from a long drive to Melbourne, the old school corn Jack was great , the birds loved the chips… but how ever , my only complaint is the burnt oil taste on my sweet potatoes scallops , itwas shocking at best, maybe it was a long weekend for them, but that doesn’t explain the oil on Sunday… most places get rid of their oil on Friday for the weekend… prices were average. This may be a great place for locals, perhaps a favourite for them… but I guess I dropped in on a bad day… I’ll return next time I drive past… just once… and I’ll up date my review accordingly
I only visited this place once, but I’ve heard great things about it. I know it’s a bit of a mixed bag, but I had a good time. The food was delicious, and the service was okay. The place itself was pretty cool too.

We stopped by Legendary Fish and Chips at Waterfall, and it was hands down one of the best fish and chip experiences we’ve ever had! The Barramundi fish cocktails were cooked to perfection—crispy on the outside, tender and flaky on the inside. The seafood sticks and crab claws were packed with flavour, and the pineapple fritter was the perfect mix of sweet and crunchy. We also tried a chico roll, and it was a delicious surprise!
The food was fresh, the servings were generous, and the service was fast and friendly. If you’re passing through Waterfall or looking for a top-notch seafood feed, this place is a must-visit. We’ll definitely be back!
This little fish & chip shop is in a perfect position to snare hungry travellers driving up from Wollongong as it has no competition.
We ordered the Snapper Fillet which was selected from the glass display unit & cooked to perfection in a beautiful crispy non greasy batter. The chips were nice as well & there is seating out the front & plenty if street parking. Our beautiful Greyhound Dolly loved the food too.

One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had! The fish is super fresh, perfectly crispy on the outside and tender inside — absolutely delicious. Their calamari and grilled fish are just as amazing, full of flavour and cooked perfectly. Everything tastes so fresh and well done — definitely a must-try spot if you love seafood!
Seriously fresh seafood! This shop knows what they are doing. I had the Grilled Barramundi with chips and an add-on of salad 🥗, calamari, and prawns 🍤, and it was perfectly cooked—tender, moist, and seasoned just right. That fresh salad on the side complemented it perfectly!
Beyond the quality, I was impressed by the efficiency—my food was ready very quickly, which is always a plus. For a true Aussie treat, the Chiko Roll was hot, crispy, and excellent. And don’t skip the coffee long black ☕️ was a great way to finish the meal. A complete, satisfying experience from start to finish!
This place is now a favourite, and I look forward to my next visit soon!
Awesome spot – old school fish & chip shop which have all but disappeared. I never have chips in my life but I thought I have to make an exception today (diet starts tomorrow). Seriously good 👏👏👏 Service from Asian lady was not friendly but maybe she was having a bad day.
Excellent fish and chips shop. Service is very quick given how busy this place gets!! You can do far worse than stop at this place for a quick feed if you’re passing through. We’ll definitely be back.
