About
Tides Inn Fish Cafe is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Albany Creek, Queensland, drawing regulars who come back for consistently fresh seafood and straightforward, honest cooking. The menu leans into classic preparations done properly, with crumbed fish, grilled fish, and solid serves of chips that hold up to scrutiny. Barramundi features alongside crumbed cod, calamari rings, seafood bites, and sea scallops prepared with roe, crumbed to order and cooked to bring out their natural sweetness and creaminess. Potato cakes also make an appearance, and the chips are described by regulars as top quality.
The cooking style is old-school in the best sense. Crumbed and grilled options sit side by side on the menu, and the lemon pepper grilled fish has drawn particular praise. Prices are considered very good for the quality on offer, and meals sometimes come with a courtesy salad, a small touch that gets noticed.
The venue caters to families with a kids’ menu and outdoor seating, making it easy for a sit-down meal rather than just a quick takeaway. Dine-in and takeaway are both available, and delivery including no-contact delivery extends the reach for those who prefer to eat at home. The space is wheelchair accessible throughout, with free parking on site. Catering is also available for larger gatherings.
For anyone in the Albany Creek area wanting proper fish and chips without compromise, Tides Inn Fish Cafe is a solid option. Phone ahead during busy dinner service to avoid a wait.

Soooooo I went in and got $17 worth of chips…..
How in the world is this $17 worth of chips????
With chip quantities like this for this price no wonder your business is up for sale.
How the actual hell is 3 handfuls of chips worth $17? If I didn’t have hungry teenagers at home I would have just gone elsewhere.
I would never recommend this place for anyone. Ever.
The 3 teenagers running the place were nice enough, the chips were OK.
But how dare you serve out basically 3 potatoes worth of chips and sell it for $17!! I’ll be going back to Albany Forrest Fish and Chips from now on and get more chips that are better cooked for $8 (2 serves)
I hope if anyone ever buys this business they do better business than you and are more ethical regarding serving sizes.
PS I hope you step on lego with bare feet
Lovely staff but took 25 mins for 1 piece of fish and this was when they were quiet. Batter was the worst I’ve had very bread like, if you like your fish battered I would head elsewhere, hopefully they will train staff and management better as this place used to do great battered fish.
Absolutely terrible. NEVER GO HERE. Prices are absolutely ridiculous. Spent $17 for THIS LARGE chips!!!!!! It is outrageous to charge that amount of money for such a small portion!!!!! So many better quality options locally. This is APPALLING. Tried to ask for a better portion for $17 which they rudely declined. This was 3 handfuls, no more. NEVER GO HERE. WE WILL NEVER BE BACK
I have dined here a few times and the food and service has always been second to none. Just outstanding. I enjoyed my crumbed cod and seafood bites immensely. It also came with a courtesy salad. Very good prices. Very fresh fish. Perfect crumbing. Never fails to deliver. A family run business who takes pride in their food and their service. A good place to visit for a casual dinner day or night. 5 stars!!! Will definitely visit again.
The sea scallops are amazing. Never change.
Scallop with roe crumbed just right.
Sweet from the scallop and creamy from the roe.
Juicy from the correct cooking time in the crumb.
Would love to see a battered version to compare the taste. Or even possibly in the future a battered or crumbed oyster as another option on the menu.
Either way. Best crumbed scallops around.
After living in Victoria for the past four years, l have finally found a fish and chip shop that can actually cook fish and chips. My wife and l ordered a piece of Barramundi, serve of chips, seafood stick, six calamari rings and a potato cake. They were cooked to perfection and could we could not eat it all. Definitely get your fish and chips from here and you won’t be left hungry or disappointed.
$12 of chips was a dismal effort and chips not very nice. Last time for this establishment, there is much better in this suburb. I wish I could post the pic, they looked terrible also.
Old quality school proper fish and chips. Was home for two weeks and we had two lovely meals.. crumbed fish and grilled lemon pepper fish excellent. Chips top shelf
