About
Fish’n at Bells Beach is a popular fish and chip shop serving the Clontarf community on Queensland’s Moreton Bay peninsula, with dine-in, takeaway, and delivery all available. The menu covers the classics: fish, chips, calamari, burgers, and crumbed sausages, with vegan and vegetarian options also on offer. Outdoor seating and a kids menu make it a solid choice for families, and the venue is wheelchair accessible with dogs welcome outside.
The burgers are a real drawcard here. Regulars travel well beyond the local area for them, with some making the trip from as far as Toowoomba and rating them among the best they’ve had anywhere. The calamari also earns consistent praise, with the batter and seasoning frequently mentioned as spot on. Chips are popular served with chicken salt and aioli, and portion sizes are generally described as generous. Freshness and heat at the time of serving come up regularly as positives. Batter on the fish is noted as well executed when the kitchen is firing on all cylinders. Service is generally friendly and helpful, though experiences can vary depending on the visit.
The venue draws a relaxed crowd and suits a casual meal after time near Clontarf beach. With decent reviews across a large number of visits, Fish’n at Bells Beach has built a following in this part of Queensland’s peninsula region.

Had a fantastic meal! Thanks to Tracy and her staff.
Our fish was battered and cooked perfectly.
And we also had a serving of their calamari. It was very good. Perfectly seasoned too.
Will definitely be coming in again. Highly recommended.
Ripped off completely, tempura prawns, $2.75ea, not worth the price at all. Very disappointed in the service and the quality from this shop, my family won’t be buying there again, especially when told by the staff…”I’ll have to see if I have your order in stock” “what tha”😅#cocktail prawns. it’s meant to be a fish n chip shop, thats Not good for a takeaway shop, check out pic I’ve added of the smallest prawn I’ve seen in a long time, cocktail prawns should not be served as a tempura🍤 prawn, poor quality, dont buy from Fish ‘N what ever you can find in ya fridge shop.
Absolutely love this place! The service was amazing the food was great & can honestly say that it was worth my 20 minute drive & will continue to use this shop as my go to fish & chop shop! Have never had a better experience! Thank you to the lovely lady that serve me & the children! 10/10 recommended
We live in Toowoomba. We’re on the peninsula today for sport.
It’s a two hour drive for us each way. As good if not better than any hamburgers we’ve ever had. Service was quick and friendly. Food was awesome. Would consider driving the two hours each way just to eat there again.
Thank you.
Wanted a decent feed and went to Fish ‘N where both counter staff today were top shelf with their customer service, friendly manner, and recommendations. While I only wanted a small snack, their menu is the process of an overhaul and there is plenty to choose from. The crispy crunch of their chips along with the of perfect amount of chicken salt and aioli will leave your mouth and mind, moister than an oyster, in a good way 😏. Can’t recommend Fish ‘N at Clontarf enough and was totally worth the drive from Sutton’s beach and back. Also has a great view of the beach there too if you decide to hang around and enjoy your food extra hot.
Not sure how this is worth $60 (not included in photo 3 x drinks) supposed to be cod x 2 and chips with a crumbed sausage and not sure when a serving of calamari was only 3 pieces but I definitely won’t be back. Very disappointing for a hungry family.
Great service, got takeaway burgers and chips. Fantastic burgers! Chips not quite crunchy enough but still good.
Gosh where do i start. Terrible terrible food, expensive AND so bad we could not eat our dinner, when i opened my burger the pattie was like a ball of mush. It was awful. My daughter couldnt eat hers and my son has been sick since last night after having some crumbed cod. Guys – close down and reinvent or sell. Honestly it was that bad. Your menu couldn’t be read as there were things in the way and where you had to talk to the guy that eventually came out after ringing the bell and got off his phone, you had turn your neck awkwardly to then find the items you were trying to order and kind of lean over to do it. It was almost comical. Needs a good clean up and a clean out not just of whatever might have grown inside your kitchen but also the staff you have on. Probably the worst fish n chip shop weve had food from and honestly when you have Marvelous up the road and a couple of others you wont stay in business long with the stuff you are cooking. I cant even call it food. $59.80 not well spent and we will not be back not even for a cold drink from the fridge which is made elsewhere. You dont have our trust that you know anything about offering good food, pricing and how to run a business at all. It was awful.
