About
Delgado’s is a well-regarded fish and chip shop in Redcliffe, Queensland, that has earned a solid reputation among locals and visitors to the peninsula alike. With over 380 reviews and a well-rated standing, it draws a steady crowd for both dine-in meals and takeaway, and the kitchen handles busy periods with notably quick turnaround.
The signature dish is fish, chips and scallops, and it’s easy to see why regulars keep coming back for it. The batter is consistently praised for its crispiness, and the chips come out fluffy with generous portion sizes at fair prices. Calamari also features on the menu and earns its share of fans. Beyond the seafood, Delgado’s has carved out a reputation for old-school style burgers built on fresh bread buns rather than brioche, stacked with plenty of toppings. For those who grew up with a local fish-and-chip shop as a childhood staple, the vibe here will feel familiar.
The shop is clean, well-run, and the team works efficiently together to get orders out hot and fresh. A kids menu makes it a practical choice for family visits, and the space is wheelchair accessible with free parking available. Dine-in and takeaway are both popular, and delivery is also offered for those staying nearby.
Described by many as a hidden gem in Redcliffe, Delgado’s punches well above its profile for a suburban fish-and-chip shop. Phone ahead during the dinner rush to avoid a wait.

Update! Newly renovated, nice new floor and new counters and kitchen equipment! They DO make probably the best fish n chips in the Redcliffe area though! We have done take away from them many times. I’d say they have a 99% strike rate. And if we are in the area and feeling like getting fish and chips, this is our go to.
Grab a meal, head down to the beach, and enjoy!
Mmm haven’t been to Delgados for over a year now.. wanted the Barra but sold out saw the Parrot fish, haven’t tried it before so gave it a go.
It was delicious the parrot fish and the calamari.. not the same as before but still yummy. Oh wells also gotten the sea scallops with roe on. yum yum
Great to see that the store was very clean and tidy. They looked like they were well organised and worked well together.
My food was made hot and fresh and exactly as I ordered. Will definitely visit again and recommend!
Fishes are so fresh, taste amaizing. Was quite quick to serve. Fries could be better as lack of salt but anyway with too good fish I just ignored less salted fries ❤️
Fish was crunchy and cooked well, a good balance of crispiness and flavour. Chips were fine, though not amazing. Ate with a mate, and the setting was relaxed and casual. Staff were polite but slightly slow during busier moments. Prices felt reasonable for what you got. Not fancy, just a classic Aussie fish & chips experience.
Yummiest fish and chips ever, cod is fresh and good! And ginger ale’s awesome
Little hidden gem in Redcliffe if you are after good burgers. I’ve tried a few other places but Delgados wins hands down for old school style burgers with fresh bread buns (in other words no brioche), plenty of toppings and great beef patty. Love the chips too. They are often busy, but always fast with their service.
Best fish and chips on the Redcliffe Peninsula! Fresh, crispy batter, perfectly cooked fish and fluffy chips every time. Generous portions, fair prices and friendly service. Our go-to takeaway now. Highly recommend!
