About
Emu Park Fish & Chips operates in this small Queensland coastal town, serving up classic fish and chips to locals and visitors alike. The shop has built a steady following among those making the trip to Emu Park.
The menu covers the staples done well. Battered fish is a clear highlight, with the batter consistently praised for its quality and the fish cooked fresh to order. Chips arrive crisp and non-greasy, and the potato scallops are a popular addition to any order. Calamari also features, and the chicken burgers have drawn praise for their freshness and well-cooked fillings. For anyone ordering fish, regulars suggest specifying the type rather than leaving it open-ended to get the best result.
The shop offers both dine-in and takeaway, making it flexible for families stopping in off the road or locals after a quick weekday meal. It is open for lunch and dinner, and the venue is wheelchair accessible throughout, with an accessible car park, entrance, and seating. A kids’ menu is available, and the casual setup suits groups and tourists passing through the Capricorn Coast region without needing any fuss.
Service is generally prompt, with orders turned around without long waits. Free parking is available on the street and in an adjoining lot, and the shop accepts card and mobile payments. Phone ahead during busier periods to keep wait times down.

Absolute rip off, and not sure where the 4 star rating comes from. I won’t recommend or return. 30 bucks for a small serve of chips 4 pieces of calamari and 2 seafood sticks . 🤣
I’ve previously been disappointed with quality and size but this year I decided I’d give them another go. The serving of chips was suitable for the price, and the chips were tasty. Potato scales were yummy. The fish was really nice, a good size and cooked well. Great work 😀
Wasn’t the best food chips and that felt like they were reheated a couple of times and not seasoned. Calamari rings were overly oily. But 2 stars for the crumbed fish it was decent but all this wasn’t worth $80.
Was looking forward to my 2 pineapple fritters until I realised what should have been sugar was indeed several tablespoons of salt. So therefore inedible. Very disappointed. 😞
The chips are absolutely delicious and the calamari isn’t too bad. However, both times I’ve ordered the fish bites they’ve had a strange chicken taste, which is really off putting for a fish and chip shop. I ordered them on a seperate week to be sure, but they still had the same odd flavour.
I also have to double check for lemon when picking up, as they’ve forgotten it a few times even after requested over the phone.
I don’t think we’ve ever had a better feed of battered fish, chips and potato scallops.
Didn’t have to wait too long for it to be cooked and served. Absolutely delicious.
Had a great burger and chips partner had crumb fish and chips. Great servings but order specific fish not just crumbed otherwise it would have been top score
We shared a chicken burger and chips. Burger was excellent, fresh salad and chicken was cooked spot on. Moist. Chips were fresh, crisp and not oily, again spot on
