About
Granville Take Away is a well-regarded fish and chip shop serving the Granville community in Queensland, open seven days for both dine-in and takeaway. The signature dish is battered cod and chips, and it has earned a loyal following for good reason. The cod is cooked with a light, crisp batter that delivers just the right amount of crunch, and portions are genuinely generous. Regulars note that a family of five can eat well for a reasonable spend, making it one of the more accessible spots in the region.
Beyond the cod, the potato scallops draw consistent praise and are considered a highlight by many who visit regularly. Sea scallops also feature on the menu and are regarded as a more indulgent option worth trying. The crumbing on fried items is frequently mentioned as a point of difference, with the kitchen maintaining a solid standard across the menu. Chips can vary, so ordering a modest serve is sensible advice echoed by more than a few regulars.
The venue is family-friendly, with a kids’ menu available and staff who are known for being welcoming to younger visitors. Wheelchair-accessible entry and free parking add to the convenience. The interior is functional rather than fancy, but the focus here is clearly on the food rather than the fitout.
For anyone after fish and chips in Granville, this shop delivers solid value and consistent quality on the things that matter most. Phone ahead during the dinner rush if you are ordering for a larger group.

They cook delicious food 7 days per week, the staff are always friendly and good with the kids when we send them up to collect our order.
We love the battered cod, it and the chips are cooked perfectly with just the right amount of crunch!
For the love of God, Please do not go to this fish and chip shop!!
Not only will they rip you off with their prices, but the food is that greasy it literally drips from your fingers, and tastes horrible!!
Ordinarily I would never give such a bad review, but this shop needs a warning sign big time!! I helped to run a fish and chip shop years ago, and had this been the quality of our food, I honestly would have quit, as no way would I expect people to pay for inedible food!!
Do yourself a favour and go across the road to Star, as they have really lovely hot food, and they give you value for money.
I’d give 0 stars here if it were possible, that’s how bad it is…
My favourite place to get fish and chips. The best potato scallops I’ve ever had, awesome chips and the sea scallops are a decadent treat. Could do with a makeover inside but with the SPAR across the road. Begs for tables, a few pinball machines and a couple of video games. Would be a great place to hang out!
New to town and tried this.
Excellent fish and chips, Crisp battered cod , light batter, and yes we should have taken their advice $4.00 worth of chips would have been sufficient,
The atmosphere/venue nothing to speak of , maybe doing some renovations or changes. But good value and good clean tasting fish and chips .
We will be back.

The service was fast

I thought it was a bit more expensive than what I pay at our regular fish & chip shop, but it was convenient for the area when staying out at Bidwell…
You I be a return customer?
Yes if in the area!
A good fish n chippery, good fish portion size, pretty good service, reasonably priced, good local hardworking owners, parking can be awkward at times,
Fish was good. But the chips were gross and stale and the calamari was like mush feed it to the dog and even she was not content.
