We have just had battered flathead, homemade spring rolls and potato scollops at Saltwater creek road fish and chip shop and it was delicious. The batter was crispy and the fish beautiful and moist. You could tell the spring rolls and potato scollops were home made so yummy. The shop was clean and the service was with a smile. Thank you we will definitely be back
Was looking forward to a nice F & C meal here based on Google rating after drive up from Brisbane. Afraid not. A piece of Red Emperor battered – a good size – but badly frozen/thawed or something and virtually all flavour and texture destroyed. I am totally familiar with what a piece of that fish should offer… and this was not even close. The chips were like crispy little ‘offcuts’ – terrible – and though quite brown were not very hot. How you accomplish that? Amongst the worst I’ve had for a long time – most into the bin. There are 4 ‘waiting’ chairs in the shop… and 2 ‘bustop’ benches out the front – not a small table in sight to accommodate anyone who wants to eat there. And ridiculously overpriced soft drinks and water($5.80) Suppose it’s main road position on the way to Hervey Bay keeps it alive… but not for me
This restaurant was such a great find! The homemade spring rolls were crispy and full of flavor, and the potato scallops were perfectly cooked and delicious. Friendly service and a nice atmosphere made the meal even better.
My entire family come here to get their fish and chips! The food is always great. The service is wonderful. The team that run this amazing fish and chip shop are fantastic!
Probably the worst piece of fish I’ve ever attempted to eat. Ordered 2 x grilled fish and when I opened the box there were 2 x slithers of what tasted like soggy newspaper. No taste, not fresh and not eatable. If I could give zero stars I would have.
The service was not a lot better. Too busy playing on a mobile phone to be interested in customer service. They did manage to take my money though. I’ll give them that.
I have not ever listed a negative comment but thought this time I did so hoping the owners would see it and try to improve what business they have left.
Ordered a few burgers, fish and chips… Was fast, delicious and the lady was very friendly… worth going there !!
Can not fault this shop beautiful fish and chips worth your money only thing I can say if I knew the fish was so big would of only ordered 1 piece for myself and partner,potato scallops are beautiful as well
Quite ordinary. Very slow service. Only 2 workers, one of which was taking orders. The meal was very nice however.
