Fantastic food. The burgers taste wonderful and are HUGE. Potato scallops are BIG and crunchy. The battered savs are actually frankfurts and not savaloys but they were OK.
Staff were lovely and we will make a point of going back again before we head home.
Amazing price and value. The Burger was hughe and delicious. Nice soft big bun and fresh ingredients. Did not have to wait long. Also the Seafood basked was very fresh, crunchy and affordable. Friendly Service. Great take away place!
The staff are amazing! So helpful and very welcoming, the beef burgers were really good ! And home made paddy. Chips were thick and tasted amazing . my mum has a low salt diet and they helped with this and it was so nice to not feel like it’s a problem like other places . We definitely will be back ps I asked for no salad on the burger.
We purchased crumbed and battered fish and chips from KBT a few weeks ago and they were the best we’d had in the Cairns area by far. Crisp batter, firm and tasty fish, no complaints at all.
18 October we placed another order with great anticipation of having a good feed and were absolutely disappointed in the quality and value of what was received.
Placing a phone order, we arrived right on time to the point that we were told ‘perfect timing’ so there was no chance of the order becoming soggy etc. The small sized fish had that muddy taste, and where the crumb was good, the battered items were soggy and greasy. I would have thrown it in the bin but didn’t want to waste the $60+ spent.
While the staff were lovely and place clean, the food unfortunately has left a terrible memory.
We got take away her on Saturday 12/12/25. We had a seafood basket a medium serve of chips and a battered fish burger with the lot $50 dollars ➕️. I’ll start with the good news the service and the chips were excellent. Unfortunately that is where it ends. Let’s start with the burger it was served on an
obviously old bun and the fish was two tiny pieces approximately 5cm by 1.5cm just not good enough for the $20odd it cost. The seafood basket was a joke 2 calamari 1 scollop a prawn cutlet and the same amount of fush as on the burger. It’s a shame as I have had burgers here for over 15years and I won’t be returning. I would come and say something personally but however given the general demeanour and sarcastic responses of the owner I feel that an honest review on here is the better option
Bought a large chips and a “large” sauce and overcharged me and all he could say was Sunday surcharge when the price of the food and the surcharge didn’t even add up to the $24 that I paid.
Edit/Response to the owner: Is that the narrative your staff have told you? First of all no price was given over the phone, all they did was ask for my name and told me it would be ready in 10 minutes. Secondly I did ask the moment I saw the price if it was correct, I asked what size and how much the sauce was. I was met with oh it’s just the surcharge and that’s what it’s meant to be, which was given to me in a rude tone. Third of all your staff swore at me on the phone first then cowarded away when I arrived back at the store to claim my refund. Maybe instead of justifying your employees actions fix them.

Kewarra Beach Takeaway seriously has the most incredible desserts. Bought one on Saturday… then went back for another THREE because they were that good. Whatever you guys are doing, keep it up they are absolute perfection!
