About
In2Splashs is a takeaway fish and chip shop in Smithfield, Queensland, drawing a steady crowd of families, tourists, and solo diners looking for a casual, no-fuss feed. The menu leans into the classics, with fish, chips, potato scallops, and squid rings among the confirmed offerings, along with a salad bar, small plates, and a kids’ menu that makes it a practical stop for families.
Regulars tend to praise the crunchy batter and chips fried in fresh oil, and the fresh salads and coleslaw get a good mention too. Mackerel features on the menu, which is a nice nod to local fish options. Service is generally friendly and professional, with staff noted for their welcoming manner. Like most fish and chip shops, consistency can vary from visit to visit, and some diners have occasionally found the batter heavier than expected.
The shop operates across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, which gives it a broader window than many nearby takeaways. It is wheelchair accessible, offers free parking, and accepts card and mobile payments. Dogs are welcome outside, making it a convenient stop on a family outing.
For fish and chips in Smithfield, In2Splashs covers the essentials in a relaxed setting. Phone ahead during busy dinner periods to keep wait times short.

The quality of the food was just not good. Way too much batter. The fish burger didn’t come in a burger bun and was just bland. They give you the tiniest amount of tartare too with the packs- it’s just cheap one from Woolworths not even house made.
The chips were okay.
I recently ordered chips and potato scallops and they were absolutely delicious. Excellent quality and flavour! A big shout-out to Tyler as well—such a friendly and professional team member. Keep up the great work!
I definitely will be back for more awesome food 😄
Tonight we went and bought fish and chips plus squid rings for dinner.
The chips were quite nice, but unfortunately the fish was larthered with a thick batter that was drenched in oil. For us, uneatable. Our hands were just covered in oil. The squid rings were no better, the rings were like leather and chewy. Gave up on those.
Wouldn’t go back again.
The service was uncoordinated. The phone orders seemed to take priority over walk in customers.
Overall not a good place to get your fish and chips.
Terrible service didn’t know anything about the types of fish ‘I don’t know’ was the answer. No lemon served with fish asked why ‘don’t have any’ the only fish shop in Australia with no lemons what a joke too tight to serve it. Wouldn’t go back to this place. Better off with a Bird’s Eye fish from supermarket. 🤣🤣
Old school fish and chips.
Couple of potato fritters as well. Alll Perfect. Crunchy batter and chips cooked in fresh oil.
Nice mackerel.
Thanks.
Fish was perfectly cooked salad was freshly cut coleslaw tasty and fresh it was the best
We usually get lovely fish and chips from In2Splashs, tonight however was absolutely terrible. The chips were old, the fish was barely battered and not crispy. Very disappointed 😞
Ordered takeaway tonight. Was informed in would be 20 mins (no problem at all). We arrived 20 mins later to find the food completely cold and no seasoning whatsoever (the pineapple fritter was covered in oil but nothing else, chips had nothing, barramundi was grilled but with no seasoning or even lemon to serve with it). Burger the lot had very little on it despite being a lot burger.
We’ve been customers for a very long time. Very disappointed. Won’t be back!!
