Absolutely not happy with the customer service and food. Such a waste of time and money . Lady at the front has worst sick attitude, looks like she don’t even want to be there. Ordered battered fish got grilled fish instead that looks like that which was 11$. Lady won’t even confirm the order even talk with the customer. Such a worst experience won’t recommend at all. Such a simple order can’t even get right and has to wait long. I wish I could give – rating
It’s absolutely disappointing.
This was our favourite fish and chips and is nowhere near as good as it should or usually is.
Had to check the chips before leaving as there is not enough chicken salt or salt at all on the chips.
We ordered a fish burger, and it was the worst burger we have ordered and paid for. It’s like the ingredients are sprinkled.

I have been in Mackay since 2016 and I can say without a doubt the fish and chips in mackay are garbage
Until today. I’ve eaten from the other Vellas and the fish and chips were burnt and disgusting. But this one the food was perfect. The fish was cook properly not overcooked. I had crumbed fish and chips. And they were real chips and a good sized serving. Cooked perfectly. I can’t believe it’s taken this long to find a decent fish and chip shop.

I just bought fish and chips from here I used to go all the way to Sydney st but after the feed I had today at the one in north Mackay just off Harbour Road I highly recommend and I know for sure that I’ll be definitely a returning customer.
This is a little out of the way shop but their fish n chips and service are elite 10/10 would recommend
