I’ve been having Sandys for years now. It’s s a very convenient restaurant to order from with a great variety of dishes covering classic pub type fare to basic Italian dishes (pizzas and pastas).
I love their Ribs, they are slow cooked and fall off the bone and MASSIVE servings. They come with salad and potato bake or chips. I always get the potato bake.
I’ve never eaten at the actual restaurant, I always get takeout or delivery. But having been there to pick up food It’s a pleasant atmosphere and always friendly service.
My favourite pizza is the pesto chicken avocado or avocado prawn, but honestly, all the pizzas I’ve had from here have been great, delicious, crispy tasty and loaded with toppings.
Pastas here are ingredient heavy and saucy, just the way I like them. My favourites are the Chicken Chorizo and the Ricotta Pesto Ravioli.
Price wise, the menu is comparable to other restaurants that serve similar, maybe even slightly more affordable considering what you get.
Thank you so much to the very lovely Rose, for making sure my husband’s Birthday 🎂 was a wonderful dinning in experience.
We have ordered home delivery from Sandys for many years now – Via Uber, so we knew the quality if meals was amazing.
We opted to try dinning in, because they have a fully stocked bar & cocktails 🍸 😅
Rose did an outstanding job (on her own) making all our different choices. Everything from Fruit Tingle, Mohitias, Tequila sunrise to long Island Teas….all mixed perfectly.
The meals were all as delicious as expected, so thank you to the Chef & due to the generous portions, my daughter could only manage shared entrees.
I only gave 4/5 stars for Atmosphere, because it was a lunch, so none of the string lights / night time ambience was visible, obviously. Perhaps a few pictures or a wall mural would be lovely.
But overall, we must rate our experience 10/10
Amazing meal at affordable prices, great value for money and selection of dishes. Friendly staff and even had a live pianist. Wish we lived closer this would be our regular.
The positive is the customer service, the waitress was polite and welcoming. The food is really, really disappointing. We ordered the paella and garlic prawn pizza. The paella looked and tasted nothing like what we expected. It is essentially butter chicken sauce mixed with some mixed seafood and sausage. And the seafood looks like it has come from a mixed seafood bag from Coles. The garlic prawn pizza was super greasy and oily. They are not food made with love, care or standard, just people wanting to profit. The waitress lady deserves to work in a far better establishment, she is a fantastic server.
Where do I even start? The food was absolutely phenomenal — the chicken parmi was the stuff of legend. Perfectly crisp on the outside, tender on the inside, and dripping with rich, cheesy goodness. Every bite was a masterpiece.
But let’s be real… the aircon was the unsung hero of the night. I’m not exaggerating when I say it was the best air conditioning I’ve ever experienced in my life. The moment we walked in, it felt like stepping through the gates of paradise — a glorious wave of cool air kissed our souls and instantly erased every trace of the outside world.
This wasn’t your average pub aircon. This was elite-tier, five-star, polar-vortex-level cooling. It wrapped around us like a gentle arctic breeze, perfectly balanced between refreshing and cozy. I swear I could hear angels singing every time it cycled on.
And the atmosphere? Electric. The sound of passionate voices from the kitchen added so much life — you could feel the energy, the hustle, the love behind every dish. It all came together to make the perfect experience: incredible food, vibrant vibes, and air conditioning so perfect it deserves its own Michelin star.
Friendly service but the food wasn’t it. One of the pizzas was black burnt crust the other was so salty. The pasta was sickening with too much cream/cheese. I’ll be sticking to Waterside pizza or George’s from now on. Shame when you have a treat night and feel like you’ve wasted your money on something I could have cooked a better at meal at home.
We used to go as a group regularly. The food is delicious and we loved going. However, the last time we went late last year, they had a man singing to backing music as “entertainment”. The music was FAR TOO LOUD (especially for the small space). Like beyond acceptable loud.
We couldn’t have a conversation and it was really not enjoyable.
We couldn’t wait to get out of there and we haven’t been back since. We want to come back because the food is amazing but we won’t be back while that singer is there. It’s too loud and unfortunately impacted our experience very negatively.
I’ve been here a few times now and it hasn’t disappointed. I rarely go to a restaurant anymore as the prices have increased dramatically, but at Sandys the prices are decent and the portions are great. I ordered a meat feast parmigiana and it was such a great size and loaded with toppings. The gravy was great and the chips were crispy and well cooked.
I was very happy with my meal. The restaurant itself isn’t that fancy, but it feels cozy and intimate.
I think I’ve been there about 6 times and I’ll be going back for sure.
Attached is the lamb and feta pizza.
