I had the most gorgeous calamari burger 🍔 here today at Sandgate. The young staff member who took my order was very accommodating as this is a special order I made up myself. So fresh..yum. I phoned to order the burger and it was ready in 5 minutes. Lots of street parking available. The bay is right across the road with plenty of places to sit and enjoy your meal. Price is very reasonable, the shop is clean beyond belief and no seating available at this present COVID time. Social distancing is displayed clearly in the shop. The service is given with a friendly smile and conversation from the young and very well trained staff. Everything is fresh and perfectly cooked and presented. Grab a complimentary serve of their chicken salt…delicious in your chips. If you’re at Sandgate, make sure you visit Fishmonger and I promise you will not be disappointed.
Went there for fish and chips on the weekend. We got the Whiting and Chips meal with the calamari.
I enjoyed the shape of the calamari, all the chips and fish were hot. However, flavor was a bit bland, but I accept next time we would try the cod or snapper instead.
Will try again in the future to give a second chance. Service was great, friendly and atmosphere close to beach is nice.
Ate here today with a friend and our kids and had the absolutely best experience. It was our first time and we were totally WOWED. Super fast even though they were very busy and just the best service with super yummy food. The owner came out and offered the kids free ice-cream as well which they loved. Had the best experience and will totally be back here again. LOVED IT.
The Calamari was the best I have had and fresh yummy salads and fish too.
We go here at least weekly and get a serve of calamari and chips and it is scrumptious
Hubby asked for extra calamari and they still charged same $15

The calamari & chips were about as good as it gets. No rubber bands here, but properly cooked, tender, and flavoursome calamari. The tartare sauce was good too. However, the absolute star of the show was the pineapple fritter: perfectly fried, dusted with cinnamon sugar, and about as close to Heaven as you’ll find on Earth. I insist you try one!

The best gluten free tempura prawns…so good. Plus chips are gluten free and the yummiest pineapple fitter was gf too, it was more like a pineapple donut, yum. Amazing crumbed cod as well , not gf.
Always delectable, we come from the south side just for the fish bites. Best we’ve found in Brisbane!
Friendly and calm staff. The fishes are very good. The chips are tasty and really good. The fans inside between the order counter and other inside-tables are really comfortable by cooling off the heat. The tables are pretty clean. And the heat windscreen covers are so comfortable to avoid sunburn.
