About
Cedar Park Fish & Chips has been a local staple in Taranganba for close to two decades, and it has built a loyal following across the Capricorn Coast region. The shop is open seven days across breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and offers dine-in, takeaway, catering, and kerbside pickup, with free on-site and street parking making a visit easy for the whole family.
The menu covers the classics and then some. Freshly cooked, golden fish and chips are the drawcard, but the kitchen also turns out burgers, hot dogs, loaded chips, wraps, sandwiches, salads, and a dedicated kids meal range. Regulars speak highly of the calamari and red emperor, with the batter praised for adhering well to the fish rather than sliding off. The chips come in generous portions, and the mini fish and chips pack offers excellent value. Gluten-free diners have plenty of options here, which many neighbourhood venues don’t provide.
Service is another reason the regulars keep coming back. When orders go slightly wrong, the team is quick to make things right, and that kind of attentive approach has earned genuine goodwill over the years. Outdoor seating is available for those who prefer to eat on-site, and the venue is fully wheelchair accessible from car park to seating area.
Worth a visit for anyone travelling through Taranganba or looking for dependable fish and chips on the Capricorn Coast. Phone ahead during the dinner rush for faster pickup.

One of the best fish n chips I’ve ever eaten!
Had the calamari, red emperor, chips and salad. All of them were awesome!
The batter on both the crumbed and battered fish was really good as it stuck well to the fish meat, unlike some places were the batter falls right off. The fish was flaky aand fresh too! The calamari and chips were really crispy and well seasoned as well.
In addition, The portions were generous.
Overall really yummy fish n chips,
10/10 would recommend,
Regards, Ed
Cedar fish n chips
Amazing service by happy young people. I came here 3times in the same week.
The 1st time was off the cards as reading the previous reviews it didn’t give us confidence. Well for the previous 1 star ⭐️ comments l can confidently say that some people are never happy. Too much salt, not enough salt. Batter is too thick, batter is too thin and so on….our fish & steak burgers were so big and delicious we couldn’t believe the size and quality. The following visits comprised of battered Red Emperor (batter nice and thin, golden & crisp), crumbed Spanish Mackerel (nice and golden and perfectly cooked), coconut prawns (so delicious and fresh) and chips.
Everything on those 3 seperate occasions were great.
Thank you to all the young staff that were giving it their best.
We all have to start somewhere so just be patient and kind.
Btw i only have photos of the last piece of fish as everything else was eaten so fast before photos could be taken
Been travelling from Townsville to Brisbane and this was the nicest fish and chips we’ve had. We shared a mini fish and chips pack and it was enough for the two of us. Great value for $9:95 and it came with a generous serve of tartare sauce.
Amazing food, I’ve never had any complaints to be honest and the only time I did it was just because I accidentally got given the wrong sauce and they’ve made up for it with lovely customer service every order since. I order from here multiple times a fortnight tbh and my favorite order is the angler/the wedges/chips cheese and gravy but I’ve had other things and they’ve been just as good, a close second fav is their squid. Both of my boys approve and they’ve been my biggest pregnancy craving so far 🤣
Edit: Another amazing meal from cedar park fish and chip shop. Absolutely love their food for the days you just don’t feel like or have the time to cook, I’ve never had anything to greasy and it’s just yum 😋 🤣
So after ordering on the phone, driving 15 minutes and spending 20$ for a basic burger and a small chips with cheese and gravy, i get home after picking it up to discover they forgot my gravy. Apparently its seprerate and they dont put it on the chips. I had to do a half hour round trip to get the gravy, to get home to almost cold chips, and gravy that was brown water. It was brown flavoured water. Thanks. The burgers are great tho, so 2*.
The fish and calamari were on point. Red emperor was full of flavour. However the chips could have done with a few more minutes in the fryer. They were barely cooked through. I appreciate that Saturdays can be busy – your site says that wait times can be up to 45mins on the weekends. Maybe use that time to make sure everything is on point.
We will give it another go in the future.
Soooo yummy! A bit shocked at prices but then when we worked it out, it’s around the $16-$17 per person mark. We had 1 battered red emperor fish each and a four person pack of chips plus sauces. I’m Gluten Free and it was the most beautiful battered fish I’ve ever had! Came seperate with the chips which were also Gluten Free. We’ll definitely be back as the whole family loved it and 1 piece of fish was more than enough each👌🏼.
Sadly Mackeral was dry from being overcooked, as was reasonably to be expected from the colour of the batter, which was a treacle brown. The batter was also extremely thick, to the point it became bread like. Was a generous portion.
Emperor was better cooked, small portion. Excessive amount of chicken salt on fish, so when they ask what salt, be aware they put on fish to.
Don’t believe they are homemade chips, but were cooked well.
I did let them know, the young girl who was nice when serving, didn’t say much, probably because it was the third complaint we saw whilst there.
