Really pleasant lunch here the other day. Calamari & chips / battered fish and chips. The fish was fresh and super tasty. The calamari was decent. Chip portions are generous and the prices are really low. Few options for pints on draught and cans too. Service was good, quick and friendly staff. Salt and vinegar is a bonus!
This The fish and chip shop has got some very fresh options that you can. You can choose and get fried up on the spot. They’re very helpful and very kind. We also bought food at the bar next door with drinks and they came to deliver the food to our table, which was a really kind gesture from their part. I think that this is a very good stop for the family for a bite to eat or for a lunch!
Such a Shame about the quality of food we had here on the weekend.
If anyone can serve food like this and be ok with that, then this review is warranted.
The Crumbed whiting was almost non existent, dried fish full of crumb and so overcooked.
Complete waste of $15, appalling and was thrown out!
The fried Dory was not drained properly and full of oil and the batter just fell off in a pile of oily mess.
The chips were so oily and limp and $12 worth of chips was also thrown away.
We took photos, however we won’t share them here.
I’ll never understand how a business in such a lovely location can serve food at this standard to customers, who pay good money for it.
Please try what you’re serving to customers.
3 stars for the service as the girl serving us was quite nice.
Lovely location and staff, terrible food!! We spent $100 and probably only could eat $30 worth. Calamari and prawns were good but the pieces of fish & battered scallops were so overcooked that the batter was dark brown and not edible. The chips were also burnt brown and dry which made the potato inside non existent. Very disappointed as it was the third fish market we had looked around at and decided on.
The environment is pleasant, mainly because of the location and views, not the restaurant itself. Sadly, the food was extremely disappointing. The chips were undercooked, soggy with no crispiness at all, and the fish lacked flavour. Overall, this was easily the least enjoyable fish and chips I’ve had.
I honestly struggled to find anything positive about the meal.
Not bad fish & chips. But bugger lining up while 1 person serves 1 customer at a time, weighing out the fish and pouring all the drinks while 20 others are waiting on Friday nights.
Get your fish & chips down the road at Tewantin fish & chips where you can order in advance, pick up and bring it to the marina.
Best fish we’ve had since landing in Australia. The Snapper was fantastic, fresh and flaky. Side of salt and pepper squid was equally good. Would give The Cowshed in Banchory a run for its money….🦘🏴
Firstly walked in to the marina bar and felt very unwelcomed. Walked 20 meters to the fish market and glad we didn’t look back absolutely delicious food with great service also. Thank you
