Plus points for service (labelling our food so we could tell which fish is which), and the food itself was better than your average fish and chips joint. Value wise not as good as the rather exceptionally budget and good place we had our previous fish and chips meal from, but this place is still decent and reasonable.
Our order:
* cod (crumbed), $8.90
* snapper (crumbed), $12.90
* dory (battered), $7.90
* sweet lip (battered), $11.90
* beer battered chips, $6.50
* sweet potato chips, $6.50
It’s definitely highly recommended.🥰 If you don’t feel like cooking, this is a great takeaway. From when we first walked in there to pay for our order, we were greeted by a lovely lady from behind the counter, a great customer 5 star service. I think I have found our go-to burgers/fish/chips place. Great hamburgers 🍔 as you can see from the picture taken. Great for fish and chips, too. Reasonably priced. Would highly recommend Bacon and egg Burger, hamburger, barramundi is fabulous too. Just to name a few. 5 🌟 service, 5 🌟 meals.
I ordered a fish meal ($19.50) which were crumbled flake, seafood salad, chips and a bottle of water. It was quite delicious and a big portion which I love!
I like here so much compared other fish and chips places where I’ve been to as well!
Customer service was wonderful. All staff were very friendly.
I’d love to come back here again!
Placed a large group order today. When we picked it up, some of it was missing so we had to go back to get it, and it wasn’t very hot by that point. Then, despite requesting chicken salt, none of the chips had any salt. A burger was missing the BBQ sauce. The fish had hard and chewy bits. The calamari was chewy and dry. The food was too heavily crumbed. Overall, a poor experience.
This fish 🐟 and chips 🍟 shop had reasonable fish, the batter was good. The chips 🍟 weren’t really that nice 😕. Prices were reasonable. The portion size was a little on the small side for my liking. It was very quiet when we went on a Saturday night.
Portion size was fine, I ordered the calamari and chip special on Saturday night, unfortunately the calamari had an ammonia taste and smell as bit into the initial calamari ring, so unfortunately it ended up in the bin, shame as this venue had been recommended and I was looking forward to it.
Know your seafood and what’s good and what should not be used. Nothing special about that calamari !
My partner and I get the value platter almost every week without fail. Supporting locals is very important, but Fishart makes it easy. Delicious!
Watched the cook grab my fish with bare hands, and fondle nearly every piece before picking one. When I eventually received it (crumbed fish), both ends were as hard as concrete. Worst of all was waiting 20+ minutes for my food. That is OK if they were busy, but watched 5 people order after me and receive food before me, and got the impression the lady taking orders knew them all. I had sat right in front of the serving area so I wouldn’t miss my number being called, and when I gave her the look of ‘Where is my damn food?!’, that is when she must have realised they had forgotten to cook it. Either that, or it was just sitting in the warmer because the service lady was too busy gossiping with her regulars. Cannot wait till my regular Fish and Chip shop re-opens so I never have to consider come back to this place.
