Discovered this place recently while driving towards what we knew would be an absolutely packed Henley Beach because of the warm weather. To save us from dealing with queues at Henley square for fold, we popped into Captain Chicken & Seafood and I’m so glad we did. Absolute quality fish and chips and seafood. Served in cardboard boxes too so they remained nice and crispy by the time we found a spot to eat by the beach
I was a little Hungry and I didn’t feel like my usual Black bean burrito and Corona. So I decided to gets some hot chickens and chips. I was served by an employ named James and order my food, he then proceeded to grab the sauce bottles and squirt them all over me. Tasted really good now my new favorite sauce is tomato. give him a raise. Would recommend with Corona, great service giving out free samples.
Amount of Tarte sauce in the container not even visible fill up the container with Tarte sauce next time..going down hill.
burger leaking oil threw out the carry bag left mess on car seat..part food order left on counter 5 mins getting cold bit pissed off .
Got our order wrong twice and the food wasn’t even worth the wait. Burgers were disgusting – way too much salt, they used fake orange cheese, and sweet brioche bread instead of hamburger bread.
Great food and prices, the small chips are massive fyi, get the mini if you are ordering a burger or yiros etc.etc.
Ordered a Grilled Chicken Burger. But it was not a piece of grilled chicken, it was bits of (a whole roasted) chicken with skin on it. Not what I was expecting and tasted terrible, so threw it in the bin. It tasted oily, sloppy and looked unappealing with minimal fillings. When I asked a staff member about the chicken not being a piece of chicken breast, they just said “Sorry, yes that’s the way it is”. Why not call it a chicken roll instead of a burger?!
Chips were quite good – crispy, just needed a touch more salt. The burger got 0/5 stars, the chips 4/5
I went to captain chicken Henley beach road last night and I ordered a hot dog and chips the food was average but then about 10 minutes later I started felling abit sick then once I got home I was vomiting all night I’m not sure what made me sick but the people working were not wearing gloves or any sort of protective equipment definitely would not recommend this place
The food ad service is always great. Family is always very well satisfied each time we eat from there. Thank you
