Rolled into Mount Gambier early in the evening with a serious craving for fish and chips. Asked a local where to go, and without hesitation, they pointed me to Grantville Court Fish Shop.
Arrived around 6:30 pm and the place was absolutely buzzing — clearly a local favourite. Placed my order and, despite the crowd, the staff were friendly and efficient. It took around 30 minutes to get my food, but it was absolutely worth the wait.
The flake was perfectly cooked with a light, crispy batter. The chips were golden, crunchy, and well-seasoned — everything you want from a classic fish and chip meal.
If you’re in Mount Gambier and chasing a quality fish dinner, this is definitely the spot to hit.
Ok Fish & chips shop, good selection of food, reasonable prices and good service.
Wow.. 👌
By far the best tasting and value for money fisherman’s catch in town!
Perfect thank you girls!
I regularly come for burgers and yiros which are also amazing but the fried fisherman’s catch tonight was absolutely perfect 👌
P.s.. sorry I can’t add a photo because its gone 😋
As soon as you eat it, you cannot stop. The crispy shell has a nice crunch to it and the fish is fresh. The salt is glittery like a friendly eye. The flake makes your tasebuds explode. The staff is polite and friendly, it is so good, you will just keep on coming back for more. And it will be served in less than 10 minutes. Have a great time trying the food.
Food (fish and chips) were well fried. Shop was busy but waiting time was not too long. Relatively prompt efficient service. Fish pack deal (1 flake plus chips) were a good value for money. However, it would be good to get lemon slice in the pack. Happy and recommended overall.
Visitor to the Mount. My order came quickly, even though they were very busy, and the food was great!!. The ordering process is very efficient, was handed a timer so waited in my car. (shop is quite small, so waiting outside is probably preferable.) I could tell that the boss runs a tight ship, …..I have been back a couple of times, and will continue to do so.
Absolutely horrendous! The chips unsalted even after requesting chicken salt looked like they were from several different frying sessions, went cold then popped in the microwave, flake at $12 a piece was the size of a sardine, dry and batter was old. Since when is gravy more expensive than fuel!!! $8 for a large gravy! Inedible. The staff members shook violently, only 2 reasons to have the shakes in the east end and nerves isn’t one of them ! Will never go there again. Absolutely gutted. My advice, change suppliers.
The fish was the size of a sardine, the burger meat tasted like a possum that was found of the side of the road, cut as flat as a playing card and they still managed to under cook it, and the chips, i don’t understand how you can make chips taste that bad. TERRIBLE PLACE. They need to be checked by health and safety because everything about this place is just awful.
