About
Sea Side Fish and Chips is a well-rated fish and chip shop in Victor Harbor, drawing locals, families, and tourists passing through South Australia’s Fleurieu Peninsula. The casual atmosphere suits everyone from a quick lunchtime stop to a relaxed sit-down meal, and the shop is open for both lunch and dinner with dine-in and takeaway available.
The batter is a recurring highlight among regulars, described as super thin and crispy while keeping the fish soft and delicate inside. Chip serves come out golden and fresh, and the value for money is frequently noted as impressive, particularly for a tourist area. The friendly, welcoming service adds to the easy-going feel of the place.
It is worth noting that some visitors have found certain items, including squid and calamari, inconsistent, so sticking to the fish and chips is generally the safer call. The shop is entirely wheelchair accessible, covering the car park, entrance, seating, and toilets, which makes it a practical choice for groups with varying needs. A kids’ menu is on offer, and parking is free nearby, making it a fuss-free option for families exploring the Victor Harbor area.

Totally delicious. Fresh. Good service. Great spot to eat nearby. Decent prices four a holiday place.
Great hot chips with gravy, with good views. Had a regular hot chips and gravy, which was really descent. You get a lot for what you pay for. Staff were generally pretty friendly.

Great fish and chips! Super thin and crispy batter, soft and delicate fish. And love the poster too haha
Always enjoy our fish and chips whenever we come down for a walk around granite island.
Fish is always moist on the inside and crispy on the outside. Chips are generally pretty good too.

This was the best fish and chips so far on this five week trip to Australia. I had the “one piece” of fish with chips and it was excellent, perfectly cooked and delicious. The value at $10 for a rather large portion is amazing. I would definitely return again when in the area.
Butter fish was overcooked. Squid and Calamari tasted frozen and rubbery and a left a nasty after taste. Chips we’re good. Food was dripping with oil. We only went there because of the high reviews and where left very disappointed. Staff wasn’t at premises, came back from an unknown destination and didn’t even wash their hands
