Our favourite local fish & Chips shop. Very glad they opened up. Their prices are very reasonable and the food is nice.
They can get very busy and have gotten our order wrong in the past.
The staff is nice and helpful.
Not much seating inside for dinning in
Surprisingly good. Not overpriced and variety of offered menu. Very accessible as you enter Blackburn Square entrance.
Staff maybe busy but gentle and friendly.
There is a seating area inside and outside perfect for a quick but comfortable bite!
Several drinks are also offered.
They sell dimsums and fish bites a piece which is really cheap. a bag of chips is only $2.50 which was crispy and not very salty.
Fish fingers were crispy and tasty!
The reviews here speaks for itself.
Happy to have dropped by this place and will visit soon if were in the area again.
2nd visit in a week. Really the best fish and chips around. Perfectly fried, you can tell from the crispy golden batter. Fish and scallops were perfectly cooked (just right). Scallops big and juicy. Priced well too. Friendly owner & staffs as well, hope they will always stay consistently perfect.
One of the best spots in east for fish and chips. Calm and decent place. Soft spoken owners and staff. Quality of food is above and beyond.! Almost all the times I had from here; everything was fresh and tasty 🙂
I recently visited a local fish and chip shop in Blackbun square shopping centre and had a very disappointing — and frankly unsafe — experience.
Not only were the chips soggy and not even hot, but I also found eggshells in my food, which I accidentally consumed. Shortly after, I became sick and experienced food poisoning.
To make matters worse, the service was awful. The woman who served me showed no real concern and instead tried to bribe me with one crab stick after the incident. I told her she could eat it herself.
I’m sharing this to warn others to always check your food carefully before eating — especially at places where quality and hygiene seem to be an afterthought.
We all deserve better.
Consistently excellent fish and chips. Always get my potato cake fix from here! The owners are lovely and you always get service with a smile. The packs are such great value also. Ocean Eight is a local favourite that never fails to disappoint 🙂
Popped into Ocean Eight for a quiet fish and chips, an old man’s simple pleasure. The food was decent enough, the fish was crisp, the chips behaved themselves, and I had no complaints there.
The restroom, however, nearly sent me to glory. I walked in to find a young staff lad at the urinal with his trousers round his ankles like a toddler on holiday. Before I could clutch my heart, a rogue splash came my way. At my age, I don’t need that level of excitement.
Decent chips, unforgettable bathroom scene.
